No fancy stuff here (except for imsto's thick PBTs, of course). I can't prove its not a poker. You have to believe it's GH60 next to a prototype of the upcoming GHPad;)

Here was me assuming you used ISO!  I need another set btw ;) still can't find the bad solder joint! (will had anther go over the weekend)

first pic is a bit blurry but still soldering job looks clean (some pins look like they are not soldered though)
I may have missed something but the plate is already done?

That's a Vortex Poker plate :)

But I do have some plate designs ready to go. One is compatible with a Poker, and another is compatible with a Pure, so people could order for those, as well.

Yes, any Poker plate will work. If you want a standard ANSI layout. You won't be able to open some of the switches with the Beast plate without desoldering, since they are rotated 90 degrees. Unless komar is changing the design. But my plate design is like WFD's and has openings for the tabs on rotated switches also.

the joints are all good (i just tested the board -- see the betatesting thread). i solder with 0.025 and a loupe so i just made sure there was a joint and moved on; i didn't bother flowing across the pad unless that was the only way to make the joint.

Lazy. :P

What if you want to desolder? I sometimes have to add more solder if there isn't enough to get it all out.

Not really sure this is the right place to post this question but I was just thinking of how much I should save up for one of these beauty's, I've seen people say that they are going to be a similar price to the phantom but I haven't been around long enough to know about that. I'm just looking for an average price, wont be anything fancy ;) Cheers Guys :D

If you are prepared to scrounge parts from used market, you could potentially get all your keycap, switch and stabilizer from an old G80 or whatever under $30, $20-30 for a plastic poker/pure case, and whatever the final cost of the pcb. I guess I would estimate $80-90 for such a build to be conservative and then up to whatever $400+ depending on case and keycap options and so on.

I'd say that the $100 is about right, I got my Phantom, through trades etc, for under $100 total.

I think lysol's layout is cool, and if it fits him then that's great. I wouldn't be able to use it because I use the Windows key and other keys primarily with my left hand. The only one that really requires the second hand is Win+L.

I have a huge focus on gaming. Left win is a nuisance, especially with a lot of older games that do not ignore it and you get dumped to desktop, often dying in the process. I had Lwin disable on my Pokers before, now I just don't even need to have that unwanted key there :) also I often do bind things to both control and alt in gaming, and having them next to each other this way is more comfortable and convenient.
At the same time I do find the win+ hotkeys very useful outside of gaming so total winkeyless was not ideal either. This layout was my solution to have it both ways as it were.

I just finished soldering switches to my GH60 PCB. Everything is working great so far. I just did the Poker layout, but I might change it in the future when I have more experience.
(I'm so sorry for horrible quality photo. My S3 can't deal with low light)

The switches are red stem with black spring (one brown switch lol)

Thanks to WhiteFireDragon (he did the SMD and pre-programming for me too) and jdcarpe for the PCB.

Tomorrow I will be playing with programming the thing. YAY.
