Hello!
« on: Wed, 01 September 2021, 19:10:13 »
My name is Rob and I'm new to mechanical keyboards. Been lurking for a bit around different mechanical keyboards and finally decided to take the plunge and learn everything I can and hopefully pick up my first keyboard soon!

Only know the basics about switches and keycaps so if you know of any good resources to get me up to speed about the world of mechanical keyboards I would really appreciate it.

Thanks and see you around the forums!

~ Rob

I'm pretty new too! Some things I found super helpful:
  • keyboard.university -- it has a ton of really helpful crash course articles on different keyboard components that are super digestible.
  • Taeha Types' lubing tutorials on YouTube are really helpful, both for switches and stabilizers.
  • Kristofer Yee on YouTube gives you a great start to understanding everything around keyboards and building them.

I'm also new to this forum and I don't really know how to embed links so I'll just leave them here:
  • keyboard.university -- That's it. That's the link.
  • Switch lubing tutorial:
  • Stabilizer lubing tutorial:
  • Kristofer Yee's keyboard crash course:

Have fun learning! This is a really cool hobby and having just built two boards -- it's really addicting.
