Nice! Love the colour combination on the left hand side.
It really reminded me of this set as well.

I have some more Orion love for you all:

Frosted some of the inserts I ordered from Elton.

Nice keyboard, and very nice pictures, sir, as usual :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

That second shot is amazing! I like all the detail you see in the machining.

Well I can't say how it would feel compared to a plate mount Viper, I can compare it to a phantom with plate mounted blacks.

It feels a little more loose , and when you bottom out it isn't as harsh as if there was a plate. There is also no ping or resonating sound.

55g blacks from gon. Caps from YongJK. I hope these doubleshots last me a while.

Almost complete. Just trying to decide what LEDs to put on it. Eagle comes with resisters on it, right? I can't tell what things are by looking at it.

If this is the Eagle I'm thinking of, the only thing you are going to need would be stabilizers, stuff to solder everything, keycaps, as well as LEDs if you do want to have LED on your board. The Eagle PCB already comes with the resistors and diodes as well as controllers so it should be good to go out of the box once you assemble it.

A lot of old G80s pop up on eBay just look for product codes like this:
*A***
*D***
*G***
*R***
*U***

these won't always have blacks, but for the most part they will.

Why is your username bragging about your seed carrying venereal disease?
