Keyboard of the Month - August - Nominations
« on: Fri, 26 August 2016, 06:15:57 »
Late as per usual, here is the nomination thread for August's Keyboard of the Month competition!

Last month's winner was E3E's Alps NCR build.

This nomination cycle will last until the 9th of September to allow for two weeks of nominations. Happy hunting everyone!
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Maybe a little late, but at least the thread is here.

Thank you for continuing with this :)

I nominate this keyboard that's held together by tape and glue by yesguchi. This **** blew me away, but -1 point for the vertical video.

Quoting for historic importance.

But seriously, with the mouse sensor on the underneath as well? that is nuts.

There's no way a functional prototype held together with tape should win when a better looking and functioning v2 has already been confirmed - it's time will definitely come but not yet!

If it was a functional prototype and he was able to actually demonstrate it, I'd feel better about voting for it.  But as it stands, a barely functional Razer with the WASD cluster irregularly worn and stained with Cheeto dust is more useful.  And that is saying something.

Sure looks like it works, what makes you think it doesn't?  I'd take it over the Razer anyway, it looks better...

I came off a bit harsh - it's an amazing design and if the guy hadn't said he was making a v2 it would have my vote, just makes sense that the final version is the one that goes on record as KOTM :thumb:

i didn't want to post this because my phone camera + office lighting produces some terrible photos, but if it's only up against one other board then perhaps it has a chance  :))

Whatever, due to lack of nominations I will throw my keyboard in the hat but I need to take a few more photos of it first.

All I did was paint the plate red and tuned the stabs (pad mod, lube + clipping)

It's the V60 Mini

What the hell, lets get some red vs blue in here (topre vs mx too)

Throwing this into the mix. Blue-grey LightSaver V2. GMK Hyperfuse served on a bed of big logo vintage Cherry MX Blacks, lubed with GPL 103/203, black stickers, 62g gold springs, sip socketed. Lubed/clipped gold-plated stabs.

Refurbished IBM 3101 with a paintjob gone horribly wrong but nice feel.

That's painted? Where? On the case?
Yes.  Originally it was IBM-beige.

Think I read about it on Deskthority. You plasti-dipped it, right? It came out nice. :)

I actually had it powder coated, and I expressly told them that they shouldn't blast off the original coat until they matched the colour.  Evidently, they didn't heed my advice.

Ugh that is SO lame. I can imagine the carelessness there.

Yes, it's what I get for choosing the cheapest supplier, I think.  It still cost me $130, though.
