Check the vendors and ask around, sometimes they order extras for sale and you might not need to wait until R2 unless you want some less common kits

Hey guys, we have an update on KAT Eternal production:

Due to coronavirus production delays (1 - 1.5 month delay), we are projecting that completion will be pushed back a month to June. Production for the base colors have already started. New molds need to be made for new key sizes and dyesub process still needs to be completed.

I believe most vendors will have extras to sell (which is pretty common for keyset group buys). I know Canon Keys has confirmed that they will have extras. I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets a second run, too. Though that wouldn’t be for a while.

So...
Milkshake delivered and had some issues. Mine were fine

but some sets had alignment issues.
As Eternal is slated to ship in June (nowish), one would assume the manufacturing has completed.
Anyone know if the vendors have these in hand and have done any quality checks?

CannonKeys sent an update early this week-
"KAT Eternal was set to ship from Keyreative this month, but it seems likely that it won't happen, given there's only about a week left in June. We haven't received an updated timeframe from them yet, but hope to get one soon. If we had to guess, I'd suspect August is when it will ship to customers from CannonKeys. When we know with more certainty, we will update our Group Buy Status page."

I really don't understand why I'm expected to follow CannonKeys when I ordered from Mykeyboard - like probably most of the european customers.
Is it really too much to ask for an update in the GB thread every month or so? I mean, even if it's jsut saying "we have been ghosted by the factory" it's at least an effort.

Looking at the second picture that was just posted, those don't look double-shot.

Excited to receive my set, hope extra care will be taken with the QC to make sure there aren't any major issues. If I'm not mistaken, this is the first reverse-dyesub KAT set to be produced, so there's a lot riding on the results.

Update

Keyreative is still packing and shipping is being arranged with vendors. Alex or zFrontier thinks the set looks nice and this photo is a phone photo provided by him.

The stepped Capslock issue is also resolved:
The Stepped Capslock from Milkshake had some tooling issue, the stem is a bit misplaced and thus making it shifted a bit into the A key. People would find that the left edge of the caps is not flush to the rest and in some extreme cases it may cause the Stepped Caps to brush against the A key. This is fixed now!

I saw that the spacebars are out of spec and don't return on gmk stabs in a discord server. Does that apply to all 6.25u spacebars and they all will have to be remade?

Cannon keys update was not specific on the issue but did say there was a delay because of space bars having an issue. It says that they are remaking them so it will be a couple more weeks of delay. Assume that means the standard size is problematic or they would be shipping those and just holding the kits with an issue back.
