Is it sad that this will be my first group buy?

1300+ posts and no GBs? I'd say that's absurd!

Yah. I don't understand flashy keysets or overpriced boards that work the same as the one I have. :p

Okay. Now this is turning into every other IC/GB where we end up with too many options and **** never gets done. C'mon, Hoff, put your foot down and make the HARD choices. :D

My wife I a also push her button . But now she have her button push by a different men. So I buy a keyboard a mechanicale, she a reliable like a Fiat.

OP updated.  I'm working on securing proper pricing, and will update further once I know that.  I know of a few places to get the Kit Kats, but it would be great to get some sort of volume discount, so I'm exploring any options there.

Also, just some perspective: The Crispy M&M bags I'm finding on Amazon are over $6.00 for the 160g bag, which bueller has said he could probably secure for about $2.50.  Not to put a bunch of pressure on you bueller, but dang!  This is looking like some big cost savings for us!

Also, just in case it wasn't clear, this is more of a group-proxy than a group buy, since we aren't guaranteed volume discounts.  But by combining shipping, we can all save money!  Yay!   :thumb:

Another update: we will be purchasing M&Ms from bueller (huge thanks for helping us Americans out!), for an estimated price of $2.50 per 160g bag (subject to change).  These bags are larger than the original estimated size of "small".  Please take this into consideration when deciding how many you will want!  I suspect that the counts for M&Ms will drop drastically, but that is fine.  All that matters is that the interest exists.  And this isn't the GB phase yet anyway, so no worries.  I'm considering M&Ms "MOQ Met" for the time being.

More updates to come on the Kit Kat front.

Woah I didn't realize how big those were until I looked it up.  I think those are ~4x larger than the normal ones we buy like right before checkout I think....I'd probably still buy 10.  Though maybe less if I find some other candies that interest me (to fit it all in the flat rate box).

There have been a lot of exotic Twix flavors, several UK exclusive, but I don't know what's available.  The only countries I've ever traveled to weren't the sort that are known for their candy.  :(

I love the peanut butter Twix but every time I buy them at the international shop they're always sooo freaking old!
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

It seems like most of this stuff is from Asian countries which I have access to pretty easily where I live.  Are there any interesting snacks from anywhere else that we're considering?  I really have no idea what snacks are out there but figured I'd ask.

Different chips/crisps sounded appealing.

Heh, GeekSnack.

They have that mini bag of 12 of green tea kitkats on sale here for like 6 bucks a baggie :thumb:

Just throwing it out, because I'm a foodie, and I come across these super often. Google those that you dont know :p

Royce Chocolate (nama chocolates are no-go due to shipping conditions, but it's the best)
Caramel Corn
RitterSport Chocolates
Shiroi Koibito
Pocky (and Pejoy)
Hi-chew (those made in Japan ones....not those that are made in Taiwan, they taste very different)
Puccho

And this thing called Tokyo Banana, almost unattainable outside Japan due to the expiry date :-X

And my friends always swear by this little crispy thingy called fish muruku.........

P.S KitKats come in different types, there's the regional specialities in Japan with nearly 20-30 flavours........including the Kyoto Green Tea one (tastes totally different from the normal green tea ones, and costs more too)

EDIT: That's what I can throw out of the top of my head

I've never seen coffee crisp in the states :(

Really? That's crazy. It's one of my favorites. Didn't know they didn't export it.

There's Coffee Crisp McFlurries from McDonalds (though not always), ice cream, and ice cream bars, even mocha and latte flavors.

Perhaps if people are up for it, us Canadian members here can help out.

THANK YOU!!  That would be amazing.  I just registered on Tenso, hoping to use them to proxy, but if you can help us that would be spectacular!  :D   We will talk further.  ;)

Perhaps if people are up for it, us Canadian members here can help out.

Halverson has volunteered to help us out with the Coffee Crisps, so we should be good, but if something comes up I will keep you in mind as a backup.  ;)

Crisps will be tricky, chances are the bag will pop when sent by plane.

I've sent a large bag of Miss Vickie's Sweet Chili & Sour Cream to US via plane in a properly sized cardboard box and it was fine. Only problem with shipping chips is the amount of space it takes since they're pre-filled with lots of air.

Not a problem. I wonder if people would be interested in the Creme Brulee Kit Kat. There's an Asian mall not too far from me (GTA residents will know it as the Pacific Mall), and they have a few candy stores that carry all this stuff. Last visit, I grabbed the Strawberry Kit Kat, Green Tea, and Creme Brulee that you put in a toaster oven. They had some others but I didn't decide to get them.

This is good... but I am wondering if just running an exchange ongoing may make more sense? Get Asia, Europe, and etc treats from international members and send them US stuff back type of thing? That way everyone gets some nice things they don't easily/cheaply have or have at all locally.

Sounds great like a great idea! Very interested in snacks from around the world. I myself could supply local sweet and salty liquorices and maybe some weird things like tar candies.

Lol, stroopwafels are a classic amongst people from other countries. :P
Ever had a fresh one? Where the caramel is still hot and the waffle is really thin.
Drop... not so much. You really have to get used to them first.
The sweet ones are a lot more accessible than the salty ones.

Another one would be cinnamon candy cane or pillows. Giant Wilhelmina peppermints or hard pear candy if you want traditional candy.

The price is in the picture.  :p About $7USD after tax per bag.

The mini waffle kit kat balls are interesting though.  ;)

It might be that things need to be timed to avoid some of the hotter temperatures that some places are currently experiencing. I am not sure whether a box of chocolates shipped through normal mail when temperatures are over 30 degrees Celsius will make it without completely melting.

I live in Holland. People love those things over here. Whenever family and friends come over from other countries we get a freshly made one (where the "stroop" is still warm). Only few people I have met did not like them. Dutch people you ask might be sick of them.

Freeze until solid, pack in shredded newspaper, put back in freezer for a couple days, ship with quickest reasonable shipping method.

I'd be in for the Green Tea, Royal Milk Tea, Citrus Golden Blend, and the Crispy Mint M&Ms. Depending on prices I'd like at least 12 of each of the Kit Kats and 5-10 of the M&Ms.

As the Dutch are chipping in, what would you like from Belgium? Chocolats are not easy to sent (huge cost on packaging last time I looked), but we have something called cuberdon https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuberdon .
Cuberdons can only be preserved for about three weeks, after which period the inside begins to crystallize. This limited preservability is the reason why cuberdons are not exported outside of Belgium (According to Wikipedia), but I can always check and maybe try to send of really fresh ones.
