Keycaps for Spanish ISO layout?
« on: Tue, 29 November 2016, 03:34:54 »
I'm considering buying a Ducky One or maybe a Filco Majestouch 2, both with Spanish ISO layout . Are there any vendors that sell good PBT keycaps with good top printing but that are made for ISO and include the Spanish charset? I don't want my keys to get shiny and I also hate keycaps used for illuminated keyboards with that dark and hard to see printing. I love those keycaps with slightly round corners and with big letters.

Hi
http://www.mechsupply.co.uk/product/dsa-royal-navy
I already got the euro pack (most of the sets actually  ).
Not the cheapest keyset ... but its beautiful! and would hold other projects if i decide to change the options keys.

There's not a lot of options so i recommend you to get these before the end of the offer.

Hi!
I'm in the same situation, you can spend a lot of money on nice DSA caps as stated before (over 150-200$), order an intermediate solution on http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/ for 40-60$ or buy these chinese keycaps for a 60% https://bit.ly/2t4Cwyd Or you can just put some sitty sticks hahahaha

I'm sure more European and International people are in the same situation.

I'm starting to considerer to find a good artisan method to print legends on cheap blank keycaps as I want to keep building keyboards and maybe sell some.

It's an incredible method, It involves everything I like about DIY such as using dangerous/toxic substances barehanded hahahahaha.

Now speaking seriously, it is a really good method, I would love to have a 3D printer with a laser mod but I haven't enough space in my flat. Maybe your method could be improved doing initially a line that contours the letter/sign, have you tried it? Maybe with complex forms it doesn't works but for example for your "S" letter, sure it makes a difference.

I where also thinking about using a stencil, maybe using lettering stickers you can create negative printed caps too. If sometime I buy the 3D printer I'll try your method.

You have a nice CNC, I'll check your channel later, I saw your post of the split ergo, it looks amazing.

As laser engraving creates toxic fume and scatters powerful laser beam all over the place, wear mask and laser safe rated goggle when using one without enclosure.
