New Year's Resolution
« on: Sun, 16 December 2018, 09:15:48 »
Does anyone participate? If so, what are you going to accomplish in 2019?

I don't usually choose a hard resolution, but just general idea; like this upcoming year I am going to make more time to draw.

I have already started on mine. I am trying to be more productive with my time. I uninstalled all of my games and am not planning on starting any new series. As my "hobby" I am trying to learn webdev.

I want to finish at least one of my four started or even "only planned" development projects, including one that uses an Arduino. I never did anything with those, but I surely want to see whether my related idea is realistically doable.

Sounds like 2019 is going to be productive for ya'll; I could probably do with less wasted time; hence the drawing hopefully using up quite abit of that time; how do you guys usually do with your goals?

Mostly just a bunch of things I started this year:

- Build a keyboard (build anything really)
- Raise daily calorie limit to 2200 from 1800 once ~180lbs goal is reached (started @230lbs 20 weeks ago, now @212lbs)
- Learn a multi-platform scripting language
- Break out the webserver/local cloud in to its own box
- Create at least one small program in C
- Dip into my dl'd texture files (30GB atm--all legit to use) and see what happens

I should draw more too :-[

If math, then 32+ weeks to reach my goal. Of course 2200 is my best estimate. I'll have to apply a 2-4 week test to see if 2200 is my equilibrium. And thanks btw  :)

While shopping for a white elephant gift... I happened to buy 3 new ties. I don’t have a dress up job so I am going to try to be more social as I have recently-ish moved across country.

So this includes going to more functions, the theater, opera, charity events and so on.

I just want a job. That's it. Any job that doesn't pay near minimum wage. Why did I go to college? What have I been working for the past 5 years? It is legitimately absurd how I don't have a job by now, cannot even understand it anymore.

I made a new year's resolution many years ago to not make any more new year's resolutions.

I've been keeping to it ever since.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Yup; exactly why I try to avoid rigidness

I'd like to focus on my career ;D

What do you do?

You forgot meetups :)

Are you trying to stay in your area?

I made a new year's resolution many years ago to not make any more new year's resolutions.

I've been keeping to it ever since.

If I could keep a decade+ long resolution I'd be king of the world

Mine has been to loose weight. Already lost 12lbs since november on a keto diet, so I think I'll meet the goal of dropping a pants size.

Mmm, I usually don't make NY resolution lists but I need to rank up post count somehow (oh lol, just noticed this is Off Topic).

  • Register a company so I can run keyboard GBs on my own
  • Run at least two keyboard GBs in 2019
  • Finish Spring semester in university without any course credit point debts
  • Loose weight (~10kg) and stick with the new weight for a while
  • Start working out at least once a week (I'm at zero for the moment)
Keyboard design by Skepur

My boards: TMO50 FE:06 | LAGOM Groda-T | TMOv2 R1 prototype | Onyx FRL TKL prototype | Stege TKL prototype | Ellipse prototype | Cyberstar

New years resolution is to work on my memory, and learning to build it up manually with mind palace techniques! And my personal goal is to go the whole year without smoking! I've been sober for a month and a half now. Dopamine is one hellofa chemical.
