Nice. Link to the Chinese post? are their more photos of their design?
Quite elegant. Instead of center USB, wouldn't this have to be a left USB cutout design?

Centered USB mount seems to be a waste of the board as it would kill the pcb compatibility. Also it's unfortunate that we have an expensive 2 piece design which is tray mounted. As Pwner said, GH60 style PCBs would be compatible with the case because the top bezel space allows for a separate breakout PCB.

i opened this thread ready to hate on it but actually i really like this design
But it's metal!

Would the DO60 v0.2.8 60% PCB work? looking for a case.

just saw this today: https://www.zfrontier.com/post/detail/4813
the center USB doesn't matter because there will be an extension cable from the center of the case to the left USB port on the PCB without having to make any modifications?
Is a redesign for top-mount a possibility? Also whats the angle?
Have been busy for these days, launching a trial or small scale group buy in China. by now, 10 units sold at ¥1588 (around $250). Many friends can't accept with just the case, they hope PCB and plate included in the box. and there is a problem might killing the PCB compatibility, this design is too thin that there is no enough space below the PCB, only 2.75mm height there. those PCB with a DIP switches or components higher then 2.75mm below it won't fit this case. ??? wow, there is a long way to go.THX for the info sharing, I like the streamline design so much.
Anyway, here are some new photos, hopes you will love it.

Would you consider to offer retro style powder coating like Norbauer did?

FYI it seems that he renamed the powder colors, or these are just ones i can't find

Just a question:
If the case is already a 2 piece design, why is it still standoff mounted instead of mounting the plate to the top case? Usually standoff mounts are for 1 piece cases that can't be mounted any other way.
I need thisYour avatar is giving me PTSD.
Looking at the trial run and it looks really good! :thumb:
If I may add some suggestion, looking at this photo:
(Attachment Link)
I think it is better to use the bezel width pointed by the green arrow instead of the one pointed by the violet arrow (see below image for reference)
(Attachment Link)
As I think the added width will give a more balanced looks compared to bezel on the left and right side.
[..] reducing the top just a little more for balance [..]IIRC reducing the top isn't possible because the case is quite flat and the design of the PCB and/or (?!) USB daughter board would need to be changed.

Agree with this, and I think reducing the top just a little more for balance too would look ever better.
It still looks amazing though.

+1 the top is to tall and there needs to be spacing at the bottom.
I personally don't mind the thicc top though, I even prefer it thicc as it is literally the homage to G80-1800 IMO.++

It is in some way the main part of this design, the thing that really stays in mind. Without the big top bezel it'd be more like a dozen others..,.
The bulky top is good as is. Maybe add a millimeter or two of spacing between keys and the bottom wedge, but OK as is too.

Definitely agree with this. I think making the bottom more consistent with how the G80 alphas are spaced away would also help balance out the top. It would take it from ok to perfect :)
I'm ok w the bottom. looks more like g80-3000:Show Image(https://www.hardwareasylum.com/images/cherry_g80-silent-black/keyboard_overall.jpg)

What usb types will this support? Would definitely get one if its not too expensive and has typeC.
I like the Cherry G80-3000s design and looking for a custom one, and some Cherry fans in China cut off the numpad and made it a 87% custom keyboard named J80, but I just missed that. during the long waiting before the round two group buy of J80, I think I should try making a keyboard of my own.
I got one and it just arrived at my friends house in China. Can I use a PCB with USB C in this?Nice. Are there plans for an international GB on this?

Also what is this?

It'll be easier to tell if you take the items out of the bag and have front and back pics.

Told my friend to take better photos and he tells me he's too busy. lol
Figured out what the square thing was. Some sort of RGB you put under a switch
Any chance that the mounting will be different?
(top mount, etc.)
Board looks good
