you can absolutely order a raw polished aluminum or raw brass in the future! you'll just have to note that its very easy to scratch and also a fingerprint magnet.

That is if you don't anodize.

I would be in if it were a Cherry profile spacebar, and I believe it would be more widely appealing.

Havent had time to fix this post as we're pretty busy, but cherry in anodized or raw aluminum will be available!

Sorry for the late reply guys, We have decided we are going ahead with this project and you should expect to see a group buy from us within a few weeks.
By popular demand we will be starting with 6.25u and 7u Cherry profile spacebars. This also goes for brass spacebars.

In the future we would like to machine many different sizes in aluminum and brass.. and different profiles too!

Now, I'll try to figure out how to make a poll for colors...

Shiny Natural Aluminum will always be available - we would just have to figure out what to coat it with.

Thinking about getting several brass space bars and having them plated. Rhodium, black rhodium, gold, platinum, nickel. You could do matte finishes, polished. Several possibilities.

A Non-hollow option would be tight. Would that cost more or less than a holo version? The obvious guess is more because more material, but I'm wondering if machining costs would be less since it would just be a flat cut along the bottom

With the anode is there concern that constant touching will wear it away? Normally not something I am concerned about on a case, but the spacebar is touched so much. For the natural aluminum will there be any clear pvd or is it raw dog?

I could be wrong, but the material cost would be the same considering that the piece of aluminum to be machined from is the same in size. Just extra machine work to trim down the interior of the keycap for hollow ones. (It'd be a different story for 3d printing since that's an additive process, where more material = higher cost).
Also, non-hollow caps may need some tweaks with switch/stab clearance around the mounting positions.

Also in for at least 1-2 6.25u cherry profile. Maybe a 7u as well. 1,7, and 11 are pretty good colors for me.

I agree that I wouldn't mind paying $40 instead of $30 if it means better finishing. Will the plain polished aluminum and brass be raw? It would be nice to see PVD coating on the polished ones.
