Timex Indiglo. I really like this watch.

Anyone else want to ride the Timex Train?

Here's a 1950s Hand wound timex that I was able to purchase NOS then had tuned and ready to go.

I used to wear a 135g watch. While it took some time to get used to, eventually I felt fine.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

I think in the past 3 years I've spent an entire total of 48 hours without a watch on my wrist. I plan my day to the minute, I can GPS myself when I'm lost hiking and I can trust it to motivate me to try new sports. This one is my currently daily drive, and I've had it since I want to say March (?) and just switched its band today.

BN0191 mini review
So it is around that time of the year that I reward myself with a watch. Been pretty good at resisting getting new watches lately, but alas got another one ;) I mean, just look at it: blue dial with orange second hand. I just had to have it. This is a new release here, and the store just got it on the shelf over the weekend I believe. Being my usual ******* self, I made sure all the markers lined up with the indices, and all the second ticks hit the indices as well.

Kinda new to me so no tl;dr.

+Beefy 44mm watch, but only ~48mm lug to lug. Wears medium large for its size due to the shorter lugs.
+ISO diver
+Blue dial, and sexy concentric circle pattern, with slight sunburst look.
+Orange second hand. Lume on the hand is on the correct end. Take note, Seiko...
+High polish hour and minute hands. Love the Washington monument style hands.
+High polish applied hour markers.
+Blue lume and it is pretty good.
+60click unidirectional bezel. Very solid satisfying clicks with very little play. It doesn't feel well dampened like Seikos, but it also has less play and feels more mechanical.
+Sloped bezel insert. Looks great.
+Beveled cutout for the date window, and thankfully no day.
+2mm fat Promaster springbars.
+Pretty solid bracelet with solid endlinks (looks like 22mm, too lazy to measure). It is of the pin and collar with collar in the center link construction. This is my preferred bracelet link attachment style. Somehow it feels a little more loose than my BN0150 (I actually have the MIJ version with different model number), and BN0100. They also cheaped out on the clasp, which doesn't have the ratcheting diver's extension. Typical squeak. I'll take it and rinse it down with dish watching liquid to kill the squeak later.

-No diver's extension. The clasp is cheap, and not up to the level of the other watches mentioned above.
-Usually like polished ring around the crystal, but this is indexed. It just looks a bit busy.
-Bezel grip is not very grippy. Prefer sharper cuts on the edge
-Second hand is skinny, and could use a bigger lume dot.
-Mineral crystal
-Big watch with 3 o'clock crown. I haven't worn it enough, but I just know it'll annoy the poop out of me by digging into back of my hand.
-Reverse beveled crown. It sticks out under the crown guard. Another reason it'll dig into the hand.
-Cheap lasered signed crown. If they are going to go cost down, I would have preferred just plain polished. It doesn't line up correctly, so it is just extra ugliness.

~Ecodrive. Would have preferred an auto, but solar is fine-ish since I hate the clunky Miyota mechanical movements. Going to be a great grab and go watch.
~E168 movement. No complaints. Own a ton, all works fine.
~While I like the promaster logo, it does look a bit cluttered. At least it is not stupid as the Prospex PS logo.

Over all, it is a nice companion to my other Ecodrive divers (all my other Ecodrive divers are black dials). Though, there are a few cost down things compared to the older watches. The styling remind me of the Citizen Signature Grand Touring (I love the handsets on this), but actual ISO divers. I think my favorite of the BN line of divers is still the BN0000 with the monocoque case, even if it is a little small. That one needs an update. The BN0100 and 0150 are both a bit on the boring end. BN0191 is a lot more festive. Love the way all the dial and polished parts catches the light. This should have came out before the summer months so I could have taken it under the sea.

Love gilt dials. Still want a Black Bay 41 in gilt, but they don't make it :( Not sure whether to stick with Blue BB, blue Pelagos, or gilt BB.

Nice watch, I love Tudor. I was looking at getting a mini-sub (unfortunately starting to get a bit old to use as a daily) for a while but keep eyeing off the Pelagos. I just think it may be too big for me. But got to love them snowflake hands so distinct.

Lately, I been dying for one of these:
180438-0
The Citizen AQ1030. I like the band on the titanium AQ1020, but prefer stainless, the 40mm size, thinner, and the dial on the 1030. 1020 does have double domed sapphire to the flat in the 1030. Should cost ~2k after the standard discounts. Ouch.

Oh Lordy, this graphite dial version is excellent too:

I generally hate all keycaps. Keycaps are for poofs. Real men touchtype on stems. Non-functional artisans are awesome, I use them for the ESC key ... escape is for cowards anyways, real men go frontal assault.

From left to right...the first watch my wife bought me when we had only been dating a few months...it was very cheap, maybe $30, but it was bought with love.
Middle is my second watch that she bought me, a Fossil that I still love wearing to this day. Rose gold is the way to my heart!
And finally is my Oris Big Crown ProPilot. Absolutely love this watch....can’t say I love how much my wife spent on it, but it will last a lifetime.

hi gaiz, I got more Seiko divers incoming.
I'll post a recent acquisition meanwhile:
SBDC055, or more commonly known in the west as SPB071. Mine is a JDM version with awesome JDM hang tags  :)) Ya, there is no difference.

Love the mixed lume color. Wish Seiko was a little less stingy with the red on this PADI edition, but that wave textured dial is loooovely. 3 words: Domed. Sapphire. Crystal. This is enough to put it on your list of Seiko to buy. Perhaps in another colorway if this is too gaudy. Highly recommend this version for the dial though. It is just a little bit on the too shiny side. It is also very reasonably sized @ 42.5mm diameter and 50mm lug to lug. For divers of oceans instead of desks, the strap is not that long. If you have tree trunks for wrists, you'll want an extender or put it on NATO/zulu. This isn't the hard PU strap, but a nicely satin finish silicone strap. Very pliable and stretchy. Feels better than the silicone from the past few years as well.

LAWL. I been collection watches for about a decade. Ya... It definitely is the most expensive hobby I ever took up. Well surpassing my cars, Leicas, tools, etc. These are mostly gone, but watches are just too personal to let go :o

Recently I wear a non-seiko silicone nato (cheapestnatostraps) on my 7a28, and it's the best non-metal strap I have ever tried.

One of these? or the black and orange version?

The silicone is slightly more pliable and less springy to bounce back to original shape compared to the lume king. The satin texture is also slightly softer. I have a twiggy 17.25cm wrist*. The lume king's strap is just way too long for normal use, and the extra flops a bit after the keeper.

*6.5cm wide, so I could wear larger watches without looking ridiculous.

Most of my watches are on bracelets. I only wear leather when I want to be contrarian or have to be in a monkey suit. Straps... only when I don't have any other choice :))

Yes, but it was a PADI, and even with small hands, that 'pig' wears comfortable.
