Thanks to slickmamba for doing all the hard work :)
First real soldering job for me.

That's a very interesting mod layout :) in a good way
They're the ones I use most and I'll use it at home so it made sense for me. JigOn was really easy to use to remap keys too.

nope, it's still using the original motherboard with PS/2 connector. It's that little bit of white sticking out the left side; I just leave the usb cable in the middle since that's for my realforce :)

No, the mini USB port fits completely inside of the case and it does not interfere with anything. You can solder your USB cable to the PCB and you're good to go.

Can confirm. It closes perfectly after soldering in cable, and the USB hub doesn't interfere at all with the G81-1800 case.

The cable, you just need to reroute using the upper space in the case.

However, I did mine awhile back and was using the first/early generation of Leeku PCB, unlike the new ones ppl are using now.

This one uses the Beast plate, and I had to dremel the case to fit the plate though.

I finally finished this yesterday:

Show Image

Bit of a Frankenboard; case and caps are from a G81 (notably all caps on the four upper rows are D-profile), switches are from an old 1800HAD (lubed and spring swapped to 62g - smooth as butter) and the PCB is a Leeku.

Unfortunately, the cap donor was two caps short. I didn't think this would be a problem until I realized it had all-D-profile on the top four rows, meaning that I came up empty trying to find suitable caps for page up and print screen. Bummer.

The 1800s look great with just about any caps. Somehow even the classic white/beige caps fail to look boring on these boards. The possible exception is black caps on a black case ... which is why you haven't seen any pics of my 1800. I had my heart set on SoWaRe, but perhaps something else will come along ...

I'll be joining this awesome club momentarily. I just got all the parts!

I'm putting a Leeku 1800 with plate in a G81-1800 case. How did those of you with the similar setup route the cable? Did you

1. Cut a hole in the middle to use the mini B on the PCB
2. Solder a USB A cable to the 4 pins above the F6 key
3. Some other way

I'm trying to figure out a way to put a detachable cable on without cutting too many holes in the case.

My board doesn't travel, so having a detachable cable was not a priority. I soldered the USB cable directly to the PCB and routed the cable along the same path as the AT cable.

Vespersaint told me that you can fit the pcb inside the case without modifying, there is also a labled spot to solder a USB cable :)  That should work fine for you.

Correct. The PCB fits inside of the case, with no interference, even if you don't cut the case for the mini USB port. You can cut a hole in the case and use the mini USB connector that is on the PCB, or you can solder the cable directly to the PCB. Either way works

I'm trying to figure out a way to put a detachable cable on without cutting too many holes in the case.

you and me buddy.

although I am not sure what case to put it inside and what switches to use.

I have dolch and g80 case
switches gateron blacks and ergo mx grey

g80

dolch case is horribly ugly

Now that I think about it I agree but the caps on my g80 are so crappy  :'( dolch caps on g80?

bro, dolch caps on a g80 is probably the best combo.

No, he’s not around. How that sound to ya? Jot it down.
