Using a phantom build in a tex case with Vintage blacks at work.

Swap between a compaq 1800 with vintage browns and a 55g Realforce at home.

Soon to be on 2 new boards though...............think I need to slow down

Magicforce68 Gat Reds. They feel really smooth and it feels great not using much energy to type compared to the Blues and Topre that I use. It feels like typing on a cloud. Somehow the actuation point being at the top instead of the bottom makes typing on Topre more tiring to me even though it feels super satisfying.

Nice I've heard good things about Nova's - I wouldn't mind trying one of those myself.

More importantly, where can you buy them at this point?

Did MX bluea really tire you out? It's such a minuscule difference in actuation force between Cherry blue and gat red. Was it the tactility that got you?

I finally got Vortex Pok3r with MX Clear switches and my life is now complete... except that I now want clicky switch that behaves the same as MX Clear. Living in Europe is not making it easier nor cheaper  :-[

The difference is 15 cN, because you have to overcome the ca. 60cN peak in blues. It can be more, because of tolerances.

I also find modern blues kind of fatiguing, because of their hysteresis: it feels like they stick after the bump, at least with my typing style.

I was used to the weight of MX Blues, it was alright typing on them but I was always aware of how heavy it was to me, but once I started using 45g Topre, I really couldn't go >45g. I actually prefer tactile switches so I think it's just the weight. Only if there were someone out there that could spring swap 45g springs into my MX blues... that'd be end game as ****.

Have not posted here in a while, bought anything in a long time except the G80-0528 I got from alienman82 recently, which is about 1 awesome board. Very smooth vintage blacks

On another note and what I am currently typing on.............thanks to digi for the great board I just acquired. Looks like a regular old Dell AT101 with black alps except he removed the leafs and now it is a very light and smooth linear. Teensy red cable and extremely clean. Easily have more Alps boards than anything else, so I guess they are my favorites......not with standing BS :thumb:

My Zenith with green alps is boxed up somewhere, however I would say these are lighter than green alps........

Just "love" them old boards........... :p

Honestly, I'm liking them more than I thought I would.
Tactility is decent and they're stiff which I like.
Typing is enjoyable with them, something I didn't think I'd find myself saying. It was initially just because I wanted a TKL board to mod and mess around with, but I'm finding that right now I like it just the way it is.

Got myself a Novatouch. Of course the RF 87U feels so much better, but I like the sound this keyboard makes anyways. The spacebar is driving me a little crazy since somehow it has bottom out noises on the right side (which is where I press the space bar).

What's good with SA?

I hear trash cans and reddit go well with SA  :thumb:

I have to agree; I ordered the selectric set and almost immediately regretted it. They look great! But, they feel flimsy and uncomfortable to type on.

I have a Leopold FC980M with MX Blues in the mail that I'm planning to put some GMK Honeywells on. Very excited.

White Leopold 750R W/ MX Reds , Was going to add O-Rings but honestly with the sound dampening pad in this board it's not even needed.  The sound and feel for this board are near perfect for me.  Even the stock keycaps feel nothing short of amazing for stock.

Used to hate reds but

1. They feel particularly nice on this board.

2. My fingers/hands seem to be getting weaker/more painful as of late and the lighter switch seems to help quite a bit.

My typing style has also adjusted enough i'm fairly used to the linear feel now of the Reds versus that of a lighter tactile switch like Browns.

Meh...Personally I preferred the case mounted HHKB 45 G Topre by a large margin.  I sold my 55G Realforce fairly quickly it was far too heavy for extended use IMO.

That is in excellent condition. Or you did a damn fine job cleaning it. Looks fantastic!

Tonight, I've typed on a BTC-7000 which works great other than a weirdly behaving spacebar key, and I'm currently on a 1995 Lexmark Model M with Wordperfect callouts on the keys care of the Unicomp warehouse sale awhile back. Buckling springs forever.

Torturing myself with my KeyCool with MX reds for a week.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Currently using a planck with gateron blues and blank SA keycaps. I like the ortholinear layout, but don't like how cramped the keyboard is. I would prefer to get something that is split and has one extra row at the top. Maybe even a 60% split, but can't seem to find anything that fits my tastes. I loved how the VE.A keyboard turned out, but that's super hard to find. Let's split is a good option, but it's still slightly too small to completely replace all my keyboards.

...Thanks to digi for the great board I just acquired. Looks like a regular old Dell AT101 with black alps except he removed the leafs and now it is a very light and smooth linear. Teensy red cable and extremely clean... Just "love" them old boards........... :p

Nice! You can type on something like that forever without getting tired of how it looks or feels, IMHO.

At the moment I'm on my pearl (white) 2013 Unicomp Ultra Classic 104 (p/n UNI0P4A):

Sometimes you just want to type on the most ridiculously clicky, clanky, clonky KB possible, and for that you can't beat Unicomp's IBM-style buckling spring switches in an extra-light, non-sound-absorbing case.  It's typing no one can ignore—buh ha ha!!

It's also why you regularly see hardly-used examples on eBay, after peeps charmed with the idea of turning back the KB clock receive an escalating series of threats from their coworkers.

Hmm—I see the pearl version has been removed from Unicomp's product page. Have they stopped making them? Could these be... rare now? [hysteria alert]
