This thread is aiming to get this done with SP in SA form. A separate thread can ofc be opened for DSA or so.

Oh, and I talked with Yanbo again, this is gonna take a while to plan/schedule etc, but the current intention is to get this done on MD.

I'm glad you're getting involved. Have you considered what profile you're running this in?

What I've been working on so far is SA, but DSA or GMK could surely be done too at some point. I think in GMK form it would clash with Nautilus and Solarized Dark right now, but maybe in a while.

Sorry, I asked my question in an INCREDIBLY, INCREDIBLY dumb way. For the SP SA, have you considered what Row profiles you'd be using? The original was 1-2-3-3-3-4 (which was good because colemak/dvorak compatibility was inherent). I know you personally prefer 1-1-2-3-4-3 on your sets though.

Having just posted in another thread that I do not have the patience to wait for SP sets, for this one, I definitely would. Calm Depths is just perfection.  :-*

The kits are designed for a 112343 profile currently, indeed.

Small update:
Swapped capslock replacement keys, all stepped are now in the Extension, the regular ones in regular modifiers kit. Also removed modifier colored R1 \| key from Extension kit, didn't make too much sense since its the second key from the right on HHKB etc where it's used.

Macros, legends should exist since DSA Miami Dolch has them too, but not sure if M0 is nice or if I should put M1 there instead

I'd be more keen if it were Maxkeys, the wait for SP is absurd.

There is nothing absurd in waiting for the SP high quality and variety of sets. I'll wait for SP SA.

Can Maxkeys provide the range of molds that SP can?  I've got a Maxkeys Portland set sitting in front of me right now, and am typing on a Saber68 (Originative's branded version of the Tada68 65%).  I can't even cover my bottom row because it lacks the 1U Alt, Fn, and Ctrl, which is as far as I got before I gave up and put it back in the box (perhaps I should've bought the set with the extra cherry novelties for this, but I just don't like them).  I suspect there are other issues with covering this board if I sat down and really tried.  When I look at the range of keys in the various SP SA sets recently, the range and the compatibility that they provide is fantastic.  To me, that's worth waiting for.  Getting it fast doesn't help if it doesn't cover the keyboard layouts I use.  If you're on a TKL or 100%, I can see Maxkeys being a viable alternative.

Thumbs up from me on the macros kit  :thumb:

For the 2U macro key, what kind of board did you have in mind for it? I can't think of any off of the top of my head, so i don't have strong feedback re: using "M0" or "M1" for that key's legend...

China had a Calm Depths GB on Taobao last year.

Could there be a possibility of a novelty pack? Perhaps something ocean themed to fit the set.

Is there anyway you could put an ISO enter or return key back in the main mod kit or other non ISO mod kit? I know its probably an edge case but trying to outfit a hhkb JP for example I'd have to buy a 60 dollar norde/uk kit just to use the enter. I could sell the rest of the keys but would be weird to give to a real ISO user without the enter.

Given the combination of MD and SP backlog, it's probably going to remain as such for quite a while.  Even moving to another vendor, the backlog is such that you could purchase then wait a year before receiving the caps.

Good oh!
Model M Industrial, SSK, Unicomp 104, Code TKL MX Green, FC660M MX Green + Clear + White + Grey, FC660C Topre 45g, MagicForce 68 USB and Bluetooth, Whitefox, some optical switch 65% Bluetooth split spacebar thing ... wait, I think I need an intervention. Too late, there’s a couple of new Model Fs on the way.
Too much SA is never enough.

1-2-3-3-3-4  :(

That sculpt brings a lot of disadvantages with it that make it difficult to properly support big and small layouts at the same time since there are quite a few keys that move between the two top rows which is much easier to do when both are R1

Exactly the issue I'm running into with the first CD set I have. As great as it is and as much as I'm a fan of "sticking to the original" for things when possible, I'd have to agree that a more modern sculpt would be preferred.

It seems the MaxKeys version of SA Calm Depths will be run soon. It will draw away some of the fans of the Calm Depths theme. Anyone who want the SP version with various kits needs to hold tight and wait longer.

Catching up here. Is the current conventional wisdom that this run will eventually be happening with SP, it's just not happening in the immediate future because the Maxkeys run bled some interest? Would much prefer this with SP, long wait times or not.  :)

With the recent surplus of GMK sets and lack of SA sets, this would be a great set to drop in for. I'd personally love to see SA Calm Depths manufactured through Signature Plastics. This would be an epitome of a SA keyset.
