EDIT: I now see that clearly-declared NIB G80-1800s are available for the same price (example here), so you can disregard this post... I'd still be interested in knowing if one can tell G80s from G81s with such limited info, though.

Is this any kind of good deal for you guys who are into this layout and/or these keys?:

Cherry 1800 Compact IBM Mechanical Keyboard








2 available, $100 ea. + $8 US shipping

They're listed as "Used", but the description says, "“These keyboards are still in the box just as new"—which would normally be a good thing, as some people wouldn't bother actually looking at the listing.

Thing is, couldn't these be G80-1800s (Cherry MX) or G81-1800s (Cherry MY)? How can you tell? Of course the seller didn't bother including a photo of the back label, or more of the box... :?|

I doubt you can tell the difference by looking at it. Both G80 and G81 1800s were made with a LUMUS layout.
Needless to say it's overpriced.
