Are you sure that Krytox contains PFOA? I can not find it in any description of it.
Where did you see it?

"The EPA's scientific advisory board found in 2005 that perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), a chemical compound used to make Teflon, is a "likely carcinogen." I won't use any product that requires the use of carcinogens in its manufacture just on ethical grounds alone. BTW, Krytox also uses PFOA in its manufacture (via PTFE)."

So this likely affects other lubes and not just Krytox?

There are lots of dangerous chemicals that are being used in chemical processes.
As long as nobody discovers any traces of PFOA in the end product, I believe that products containing PFTE will stay in production and continue to be sold.

"PFOA was a. o. used as an alternative to PFOS, which was banned in 2008."

Don't worry - we'll find an alternative to give us another 9 years of grace.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I'm pretty sure this is at least the 3rd time they changed it to a slightly different toxic mix to keep ahead of it (I think it's closer to 5th).

They know the new formulas are just as bad, but because it's a new formula it resets the clock.

Plating and anodising do not need lubricants!

Those processes use electrolysis and acids. Anodising a colour involves first electrolysis, then a bath in dye followed by boiling in water to seal the dye in the oxide's pores.
