Hello Geekhackers,
I am C³—Ears,founder of Equalz. I want to introduce our new brand C³.We are a bunch of keyboard enthusiast from China. C³ represent Custonize,Comfortable,and Cool. We are friend with the same idea which is to create a desk culture.In short term we want to make everything on your desk,not only keyboard. So yes, we have ambitions. Back to keyboard,Equalz will be our high-end keyboard series. This series is all about perfection. We only consider to use the best thing there is.Price is not the priority. Hope you guys can share this idea.
Now this new board is called Mountain. Inspire from ancient Chinese book The Art Of War. We will name our boards 风林火山阴雷（Wind,Forest,Fire,Mountain,Yin,Thunder). This one is Mountain.I dont know if you guy notice there arent many 100% custom keyboard on the market,so we want to make a 100% board. Since the size of the full custom keyboard,we called it Mountain. And there is not many good PCB out there. So we decided to make a new one. When we do the this,on the idea of not saving money,we want every cool thing on it.First it should be RGB and it must be programmable. Mini-usb is out of date so must get rid of it. We should use Type-C. On the other hand many people may not have a Type-C cable so we put another mirco-usb port.Still this is not cool enough for us. The we had an idea of putting an screen on the keyboard. There is enough room above the keypad area. And if we don’t put something there it would be boring.So a screen it is. Well,find a screen is not an easy job,i can tell you that. The case is made by my dear friend EVE. He has done a wonderful job last time doing the 80% keyboard, Zero, for us. I believe the case is the best manufactured in the market. We will use titanium screws to avoid scratches on screws and a longer lifetime. Anyway, we pursue perfection in our keyboard design.

3,Oled screen. Used for programme keys and lights. Also you can use it as a calculator

P.   S. 1,Pcb just need to solder the switch.
     2,Only support plate-mount switches. Too many wire in the PCB there’s no room to support PCB-mount switches.
     3,Oled is way better than the normal screen. The viewing angle,resolution is all better. But it have only 50,000 hour life. So we suggest to set it turn off after N seconds.

I've always wanted a keyboard with a functional screen in it (reuters 9009) But I would be concerned about having to source my own screen that fits and looks good. Will you be posting what screen you used or some possible sources where people could buy something similar?

1,We considered Hotswapping. But we can't find the hotswap have a long lifetime.
2,Sorry we didnt design a Realforce Case,maybe later.

Two reason we didnt use Brass:
1,It's already quite heavy since this is a full-size keyboard
2,Brass easy to oxided and dont have many color like Alu

The screen feels a bit gimmicky to me.
- Usually when I'm using a calculator, I'm reading numbers from the screen and entering them into the calculator, so it helps to have the calc app close the numbers that I'm reading.
- Really can't see myself programming the board on the fly
IMO, it might have been better to add 4 additional keys above the numpad.

What are the other functions of the screen and how is it navigated? Function layer bindings?

How is the PCB programmed?

Will you be offering spare screens in the GB? Since long time lifespan is a concern it'd be nice to have a spare.

If you ever make a south paw version of this (with the numpad on the left like the LZ-RV I'd definitely be in!)

Yes, obviously white requires some kind of powder-coating. One of my Norbauer aluminum Novatouch cases is powder-coated white and it is amazing. Most of my keycap sets only look their best when paired with a white case.

Mao isn't very white in person. Its more of a grey/silverish sorta look. Every photo I take makes it look white tho, so that's a plus. Would definitely look into cerakote if you want a more true white.

Thank you for your serious reply!  this screen Mainly used for programming and simple calculator functions(+ - ×÷），I will update the firmware to complete the functions of other calculators。
Is the screen as a programming tool, I will update the specific method。
Your concern is not without reason.We will consider offering a separate screen purchase, and it will not be expensive.

yes, white need powder coating, this process is not very durable, micro-arc oxidation is off-white, and it is not very durable, it will become dirty.So I will choose more anodizing, EVE can do it very well

Without exaggeration, Equalz Zero is one of the best case I've ever used, maybe the GOAT!
I think the highlight of Zero is the ancient feel Logo Brand and the tiffany PCB, also the sense of design.

2,the screen is free to disassemble.
3,you can replace the metal up as a logo.

This looks gorgeous and I love the innovation. My one wishlist item would be hotswap sockets like Kailh's. Will be buying it either way once it comes out!

In fact, most players in China do not like hotswap because it can not work for a long time and if our GH players really like it, we will think about it later.

Hot swap is for the indecisive. No need.

Or people that don't want to **** around with desoldering when new switch variants come out that blow old ones out of the water. Not sure what the lifespan is on the sockets but if they can last for >50 swaps that might as well be forever.

He is trying to say that this structure will not last very long (it has relatively short lifetime). In fact, very very few of Chinese keyboard buyers prefer hotswap sockets for keyboards, so Chinese GB runners do not have a lot of experience designing keyboards supporting hotswap (will avoid many potential problems with the GB).

This GB was a successful GB in China (there were limited amount numbers of different colors but they were still gone within minutes), despite the fact that Chinese buyers prefer 80% keyboard.
