Welcome to the GMK βeta group buy thread.

In collaboration with Krelbit of Switchmod.net and Oblotzky, we have been able to translate one of my favorite Betamax cassette tape sleeves into a keyset, using stock GMK colors.

Colors

The colors used will be L9, 2B, RO2, and V2. The legends will be CR, which is black.

Kits

We are offering TWO base kits. One is the βeta Base, including Latin alphas and orange accent keys. The second base kit is the JS Base, featuring Hiragana sublegends and red accent.
Additional accent keys are included to emulate the JustSystems HiPro keycaps.

Regarding split/extra spacebars, OG Spacekeys is currently running on my site until September 4th, 2020; so you can get L9 spacebars from that.

RAMA CAP

We are proud to announce a collaboration with RAMA WORKS, an aluminum CNC-machined keycap in red with a black β. The anodization will be matched as closely as possible to RO2.

To be fair, betamax wasnt discontinued until 2016.

I am really digging the colorway and would love to use it with one of my iso-de OG alpha sets, but can't justify to buy a whole base kit only for the mods :/

I can remember watching the original star wars trilogy over and over again on a Betamax tape that my dad had dubbed all 3 movies onto for my brother and I. If the format hadn't died in the mid-80s we probably would have worn that tape out.

Really digging the red accents but wish they were available on their own or as part of the main kit. I don't want all of those japanese alphas....
