All group buy orders have been delivered. Thanks to everyone who participated.  :thumb:

PSA: Please don't participate if you don't know what you are buying. Please be sure and read all the information below. Thanks!

More
  • No support is proposed or implied you are buying plate mount MX Lock switches, Cherry part #MX1A-31NN what you do with it is up to you to figure out.
  • For anyone asking how we are getting these somewhat 'rare' switches that cherry stopped producing. What is left is what can be gleamed from NOS (new old stock) sitting on suppliers shelves, I have zero reason to doubt the supplier but this is part of the group buy risk and something that usually gets asked. I'm just trying to be transparent.

Timeline

*I'd like this buy to go very quick, I'd love to sell out in one day but will give it a week but may limit the total number of orders simply to make it more manageable.

Click for Details
More

Orders Are Open for One Week From Approval or Until MOQ Sold Out

Lead time on switches from supplier is estimated at 3-5 days processing on their end plus shipping time to me.

I'll try and have all my supplies on hand to begin shipping ASAP, how long it will take me to finishing shipping depends on total number of orders.

Terms

*There is always a risk when participating in a group buy, I will do everything within my ability to make sure this all happens quickly and smoothly.

Click for Details
More

This is a no MOQ group buy meaning it will happen, however do realize this means I am taking on risks by committing to buy out any remaining MOQ so the pricing reflects this.

These will be shipped from the CONUS and payment will be by PayPal goods invoice, make sure your shipping information is correct in your PayPal account as I will only ship to confirmed addresses.

These will be fulfilled in the order that makes the most sense for me to get them all out quickly and efficiently. i.e. larger or smaller orders will take precedent on a given sorting/packing day depending on what shipping drop off options I have available that day, international orders will probably ship after CONUS, etc.

I reserve the right to deny participation for any reason or no reason.

My responsibility ends when I ship your stuff, if you want insurance that will be extra and evaluated on a case by case basis and is up to you to ask.

Finally the good stuff...

Pricing

I reserve the right to change pricing if a valid reason arises that I have not considered, pricing for very large orders might get preferred pricing.

I have tried to simplify pricing by offering specific options with handling costs etc built in, if you feel none of these options apply to you please PM me and we can discuss.

International

I may limit the total number of international orders.

*Shipping will be calculated on an individual basis for international orders since it varies quite a bit depending upon destination.

3 Pack of MX Lock Switches $18 plus shipping

10 or More MX Lock Switches $5/switch plus shipping

CONUS

*Depending on how the group buy goes I may have to limit the number of spots per tier, that is TBD.

3 Pack of MX Lock Switches shipped USPS First Class Bubble Mailer $20

5 Pack of MX Lock Switches shipped USPS Priority Small Box $30

10 or more switches will be $5/switch shipped USPS Priority Small Box (If your order won't safely fit in a priority small box there will be additional shipping cost.)

Order Here*First 5 orders get a FREE GIFT.  :o

*My apologies for the form I'm still new to using forms.  8)

No idea what I'll do with these but why not.

Also the form has the same price for 5 switches as 3. Obviously that is incorrect...

Submitted for 10, just a quick note. The order form has CONUS 3 switches and CONUS 5 switches both priced at $20. Seems like a typo since the original post has 5 switches at $30.

I've never used these, and am thinking about using this for my first build...

So newbie question:

Does the LED position line up with the centered caps lock position when LED's are south and switch is in the off-centered position on a DIY/custom/group buy pcb? And can a PCB be programmed to sync up off-centered caps lock switch with centered caps lock LED?

I'd love to use a windowed stepped locking caps lock with LED.  ;D

Right, CONUS orders I am not concerned with shipping cost but I need to estimate shipping for international.

When you will need the CONUS address? You will ask for that address and will not use the paypal address right?

Ordered! These will be great for two rows in a 5x5 control panel (that's if it's not an arm and a leg for international shipping  ;D ).

If you haven't sold out yet and there are at least 3 (or fewer for a reduced price), I'd be in for a CONUS order.

Thinking of using them for FN layers for different builds, especially 40% and lower.

I got you don't worry.

Also as a general update we definitely sold out so I'm reaching out to another supplier and see if I can get access to more switches.

This thread serves as the main source of updates. I've never even used Discord.

And as a way of general update I've sent out a block of US invoices.

Getting the same error when trying to pay my invoice. Using a different browser doesn't seem to help. Had another invoice waiting as well and was able to pay that one no problem....

Let's give it until tomorrow then I'll cancel and resend or do something else. I've sent out ~50 invoices so maybe that's causing a problem.

Another general update, I have invoiced everyone in the initial round of invoicing both CONUS and International.

If you didn't get an invoice all hope is not lost yet, I should be able to fulfill a few more orders and am trying to find more switches but so far have struck out.

And again if anyone is having trouble with the invoices let's give it 24 hours or so and see if the kinks work themselves out.

Just saw the invoice and I'm actally surprised because of the shipping cost.. Isn't there a cheaper option for shipping 3 switches?

I sent you an invoice last night.

Just saw the invoice and I'm actually surprised because of the shipping cost.. Isn't there a cheaper option for shipping 3 switches?

If you'd like I'll just cancel the invoice as I've already got more orders than switches available from the supplier.

Had some funny stuff happening too (not the same as screenshoted above though) but it went through at the third try.

Glad it worked out for you.

I've had a few people contact me about the invoices and it seems like waiting is working so maybe they all work now. If anyone is still having issues let me know and I'll send you a direct link to the invoice, I just did that for someone and it worked.

Perhaps it was a Paypal issue. I never received any notifications or emails, but the invoice was there in my Paypal account when I log in manually.

Shipping seems a bit excessive for 3 switches, but I paid it anyway.

I have to estimate a weight and am charging what PayPal shows it will cost to ship to the given address.

Anyone who doesn't like the pricing please let me know and I'll cancel the invoice as there are others who are interested.

I see your form is currently inactive, if you reopen the form, I'm interested in buying some mx lock switches since they'd be perfect for some 40% builds.

Just sent out some invoice reminders. I'm going to try and get these ordered tomorrow.

If people are having trouble with invoices, need a slight extension on payment etc. I need to know or else I'm moving on down the list. Don't want to delay things unnecessarily.

Darn, I waited too long to make up my mind. I guess I'll wait to see if you can source any more of these.
Maybe they're waiting for gasmasks and latex to get sexy again.

I probably won't use them all, I'm sure others are in the same boat.

I've private messaged all those who have not paid, I will be cancelling those invoices tonight if I don't hear back.

The order has been placed with the supplier, I'm still trying to get more but am not confident.

If there are any vendors (someone with an actual business) around who want to potentially help please contact me through PM, I do have one lead but would need assistance with it.

Is it too late to be added on a list if invoices fall through?

Would love to buy a few!

Sending out a few more invoices due to order cancellations. Please pay ASAP or contact me for other arrangements. I will cancel invoices if they are not paid and/or no contact is made.

If someone drops can I get their spot, the more the better and I can pay now, I was an hour late trying to order and it closed I've been looking for these ever since olkb took them out of stock.

If not that's alright and I appreciate the effort this community puts in to get goods like these

I'm still going down the list of people who did order.

I'm hoping this coming week I'll hear back from more suppliers.

I was getting a lot of international order cancellations due to the shipping costs (~$10 to $14 depending on country) and people were not responding after being contacted so I stopped sending out international invoices.

I'm still looking for more supply and if I find some I'll see what is still outstanding at that point.

Shouldn't it be a lot less for a bubble mailer in the case of 3 switches?

Nope not if you use first class international shipping with USPS. Costs me $13.50 for a small bubble mailer

Wouldn't it pass as a letter? I believe I've had switches delivered as such before from 1upkeyboards.

PayPal and USPS have made changes in the recent past.

There was a time when anything you sent first class international shipping through PayPal only showed as a letter and yes it was a few dollars cheaper but nothing ground breaking. It now has first class international package and these will be packages as far as USPS is concerned.

We can beat a dead horse all day and I'm more than willing to work with people but I'm trying to make sure things arrive safely and making sure I'm doing things correctly through PayPal and USPS so this all goes smoothly.

Ah, that is fair enough. I had similar issues when trying to run GMK NorDeUK, the cheapest service provided by PostNord being the tracked and insured option at €15 :(

Anyone who received a shipping notification last night your order might not ship until Monday.

I've got all big (10+ switches)  CONUS orders shipped. A few international orders and a few other CONUS shipped. ~15 in total.

If I get time this weekend my plan is to get most of the rest of the packing done then get labels printed and ship the rest over the first few days of the coming week.

People should start receiving switches today.

Update my labels and my printer have decided they don't like each other.

I'm going to be down a few days waiting on new labels, I knew I should have bought a thermal label printer....grrr  >:D

EDIT: Label printer ordered will be here Tuesday, my apologies for not doing this to begin with.

Still packing for the labels I did manage to get printed.

I'm interested in getting a few of these if anyone has spares.

Also, I have had an MX locking switch before.  It would latch like 95% of the time.  But it wouldn't latch the other 5%.  A friend of mine had the same issue.  Is that the same with these?

Got em.  Works like a charm.  I used my lock switch as a function lock key on my split right shift.  When it's down, I know that the right mod bank is an arrow cluster  :)

Wishlist:
I wish it clicked. I didn't even think about it, but a click would have been nice.  Also, it's definitely visible when stuck down, but  I somehow thought it would be even more noticeable.  It rocks, don't get me wrong, I just wish it stayed down a millimeter lower or so.

Here ya go:  (wow, guys!  I might be able to actually use a 60% comfortably in photoshop and illustrator!  It always felt nice in a code editor, but I really missed the arrows in adobe applications.   We shall see down the road.)

I have 10 international orders left to pack and ship I'll try and get those in the next day or two, they take a little longer.

A few more international orders dropped off this morning.

Just an FYI I am shipping to whatever PayPal says is your address (as I stated in the OP of this thread) if it isn't right and I've dropped it off there isn't anything I can do about it at that point.

I had to issue one refund because PayPal couldn't print the address on the shipping label due to the special characters being used.

Also all CONUS orders are estimated to be delivered by this Saturday, May 27th. If you had a CONUS order and don't receive your order by then contact me ASAP.

All orders have now been shipped, everyone should have received tracking information through PayPal.

Please contact me by email or PM with any issues ASAP and I'll see if there is anything we can do to work them out.

Also if anyone would like to leave me heatware feedback or feedback on r/mechmarket please do and I'll reciprocate.

I'll leave this thread open for around a month to make sure all the international orders have a chance to get delivered.

All orders show delivered via USPS tracking and no one has contacted me with any issues so I am locking this thread. Thanks to everyone who participated.
