Late to the GB, especially with a request, but any chance for the CMYK mods in a blank option? I'm a Mac guy, so OSX icon options would have been ideal, but I know you can't please everyone and "code" could be something I could deal with, blank mods would be stellar as well; I already have a blank CMYK kit, but this would be higher quality and I like the additional color options as well as sizes.

Code is infinitely better than a Windows key, which is typically the norm. As a "Mac guy", I'm extremely thankful whenever a custom set has Code keys included as this is not normally the case! Its an operating system agnostic option that works for everyone.
How does one become so interested in a thing like keyboards? When you realize you use a keyboard more than any other tool in your life.

+1 on this (I run a mix of Mac/Linux/Windows, and always appreciate a 'code' key/platform agnostic approach.)

Whats the MOQ on different add-on kits?
Considering the first add-on use standard while 2nd use customs, will they have different MOQs?

Oh, so custom colors only affect base-kit MOQ. Will probably get the 2nd add-on pack.

haven't really been keeping up with keycap GBs for some time now.
but this is it!
I have nothing much to add here, cause I'm 100% in line with all the decisions so far. also for me the addons are great, cause I can perfectly pare them with my old HAD sets.

It's up.

I gotta say Hineybush, that is a beautiful site!

Thanks, but I can't take any credit for the site itself. Tony (goes by End on discord etc, and __ here) did all of it. The dude's a madman.

Also the GB is up, I'm waiting for mod approval on the GB topic here.

Also just in case anyone doesn't read the whole page, it DOES NOT charge you up front. You can join the GB and you pay at the end.

yea it's here https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=92520.0

GMK Slate is being postponed for the time being. We realized with the holiday season and a bunch of other GMK sets happening right now it's not a good time to try and run this buy. It was poor planning on our part and we're going to take it as a learning experience, and we aim to do better in the future. The plan now is to re-open the GB in mid-late Q1 of 2018.

Also, taken from our email sent to current GB committers:

Quote
As part of the postponement, we wish to offer those of you who have already ordered the opportunity to retain your existing orders, or to cancel them. We would also like to know if you wish to receive email notification at this email address when we reopen the group buy.

We need a response from you by Tuesday, November 28th, confirming the following:
    - Do you wish to keep your current order open when the group buy resumes? Yes or No.
    - Do you wish to be notified at this email address when the group buy resumes? Yes or No.

If we do not hear from you by Tuesday, November 28th, we will cancel your order at that time. For those of you who choose to remain in the buy, you will receive a number of messages regarding status changes to your order on or after the 28th as we adjust the time frame of the buy in order to prevent premature invoicing.

The email to contact is tony@cartel.ltd for the above info.

Hey, looking to get this going again in January/February of 2018. Also thinking about changing up the colors for a 150 MOQ:

We may switch to Honeywell's grey (GR4) and one of GMK's blue tones to replace the custom Pantones we originally chose. Perhaps N5 for the blue, but I'm open to other suggestions.

We're also considering changing the mods to text-only, as well as the actual symbols for the numpad / and *.

Thoughts?

I could deal with the color changes, thought it would be a bummer. But text-only would be a pass for me. Same reason I passed on Oblivion. For something more colorful I might be able to deal, but text only monochrome is just super meh to me.

Not a huge fan of the color changes tbh.

The original Pantones look perfect, and I feel Honeywell gray won’t do the set justice.

So my vote would keep the og Pantones, especially the gray. =)

Just my opinion, I like the colour scheme that had already been on CARTEL GB page.
Is there an ETA for the re-opening?
Would like to see an additional '=' key for replacing '-' key in the Numpad section if possible.

Slate on Meme. We're gonna work on re-running this sometime this summer. The current colors will stay the same.

Notable changes I'm gonna make:
  • Separating the red and blue accent pieces out of the main kit, likely bundling them with the TU2 spacebars. This will save some cost on the base kit.
  • Replacing the "Purse" caps lock key with the down-pointing arrow.
  • Replacing / and * on the numpad with the "proper" icons.
  • Adding that = key for a numpad.

New layout I came up with:

Probably not gonna run CMYK with this, as it didn't really get a whole lot of traction before. I could adjust the kit (getting rid of the purple/orange keys, for example) and simplify it to bring the cost down.

Glad to see this is still churning along!

I don't need any of those silly colors, the base kit is perfect!

This has been up there with 9009 as one of my top "simple" must-have kits!

This would look SPECTACULAR on some of the marbled color options from the new Lumia board in IC!

Reviving from the deep

We're working on getting this to run with EnjoyPBT, through KBDFans. We (Cartel) will still run this for US buyers. MOQ is 100, which is much easier to reach than 250. Expect a kit very similar to EPBT 9009.

Hopefully a month ish? Waiting on some updated legends (KBDFans/EPBT have a graphic artist from the community working on this) which should be done in the next week or two. After that it'll be a matter of finalizing the kits and obtaining color samples.

I've added an updated KLE of what the kit will (hopefully) be to the OP.

I really like the one tone looks (both light and dark).  Any chance for offering reverse kit?
ePBT 9009 has a lot of keys for reasonable price, so this is bit out of blue, but how about offering a big kit to fill two looks?

I originally designed the set as a one-tone thing, so it's definitely possible to do a reverse version in the future. with the lower price of epbt sets, it would certainly be viable.

Tentative plan is for US to be through Cartel, then likely everyone else through KBDFans. We might add on a Canadian proxy depending on costs for people up there.

Ok, so I got some preliminary renders done. Two options for the grey color, first is GMK's 2B (same as KLE); and second is Pantone 425C, which is darker. Tell me which you like more:

Only problems I see with using a custom color: 1. MOQ goes to 250 from 150 and 2. It costs more to do customs instead of stocked colors.

Someone suggested changing the yellow from CV to N6.. thoughts? I can make some quick renders to show the difference.

Also, here's some CMYPK action:
