It is cool because South Koreans have them. It is the closest to a custom Korean keyboard that we can get. :-)
lol, to be honest, it is not because we lack of resources and skills to make custom keyboards comparable to the korean ones. It is mainly because of the fact that it is almost impossible for geekhack members to work together coherently to come up with something other than putting up SP orders. Its kind of a culture thing really (IMO). Koreans are known for being able to stick together and achieve a common goal as a nation.
That being said, good luck with the Phantom project. it sure is a big step forward.
