As Kinesis Advantage user myself, once you use this, there's no returning to regular boards. Good time to get one!

Couldn't resist myself. Got one for in the summer home where we stay 2 months a year. The kinesis is certainly not a mobile keyboard, so great to get a 2nd one and not have to drag it around now on the plane/suitcase.

Let's make you less tempted. Thin ABS, no compatibility with win7, still that old design teeny weeny membrane function keys.
Most of the modding can be done on your own once you break through the psychological barriers.

Yuck, but replaceable. Worth it for the ergo.

....op probably doesn't need win7; does anyone? That seems like the problem to solve :)

Sure, but not so bad in practice. Worth it for the ergo.

Definitely worth it for the ergo.

Tried multiple regular staggered mech. keyboards after, no turning back, ergonomics on this thing are superb!

Since de Ergodox is basically a 2d version of the kinesis and the Ergodox thumb keys are too far for most people with smaller hands.... does the same happens with the kinesis??? is the ctrl button usable without being weird???

If I hadn't recently purchased a left and right-handed Maltron, I would probably be all over this. :))
As it is, I think I can hold out until the next update, however many months away that might be.

/I'm serious, though. It's a nice deal.

I read a post either here or on deskthority that kinesis thumb cluster feels nearer compared to ergodox thanks to the curving. If you search the ergodox threads then you can probably find the post.
My experience with kinesis (I'm a long time user) is that all the thumb cluster buttons are easy to reach except the Alt buttons. Those require a bit of stretch but nothing serious. It is still usable. That is the reason I also moved the top two thumb cluster buttons on my  Katy keyboard.
In my opinion kinesis is better than ergodox except possibly the firmware. If you would mind it you can replace it.
It will depend on the size of your hand. My hand is 19.5 cm long form the middle-finger tip to the first wrinkle on my wrist.
