Photography Contest
« on: Thu, 26 July 2012, 08:37:19 »
So I'm looking to do a little bit of marketing with some blog posts to promote the new site, and I would like to add some pictures of my keys on keyboards to show the concept to people that may not have seen custom keyboards before.

Contest Rules
  • By submitting a photo you are agreeing to allow me to re-use on various blog posts
  • Photos must contain keys that are on a keyboard
  • Photos must contain only stock looking keys and keys that are available for sale on http://www.techkeys.us
  • There is no time frame to this contest, winner will be picked as soon as a great photo is chosen

Prizes
  • 3 Prizes will be awarded for photos used
  • 1 submitter can win all 3 if all of his/her photos are used
  • Prizes will not be announced and will be a surprise to all winners.

I don't have enough quantity to sell those on the site.

Not sure if these are acceptable since there's other kinds of keys, but maybe you can crop them or something:

I like the second one, but it would be great with the Cue Ball instead of the Tri-Force.

I added a link to the post, maybe there's another image there you can use.  Unfortunately, I don't have this keyboard anymore (CM Storm wrapped in Military Green vinyl) so I can't take these exact pictures....

I'll try to take some new ones after the weekend, if the contest isn't already over by then.  Maybe I will need those Flash keys afterall =)

Just a quick shot with a Canon 500D, EF 50mm 1.4, extension tube EF-12 II and a B&W Käsemann polarising filter.
If you like it I can do more with the Billiard keycaps. Just let me know ;)

Love the clarity on that shot, but I am looking for pics with the keys on a board.  Would love to see what you can do with the billiards!

What I really want is 3 shots that highlight 3 different keys/keysets so if you could highlight a given "product" in each shot that would be awesome!

@longweight
Dunno how OCD i3olermaker is, but you did too much post processing on your first shot. The HS keycaps have shades of purple...

It's getting dark over here in Germany. Already had to shoot 30sec at f8. The DOF with an extension tube is just sooo thin :/
Not quite content with this pic, but this is all I got for today. It's too dark already (to shoot).

Warning! These might sting your eyes! lol! :D

My Leopold, with double shot CC&G modifiers, and some Cherry thick doubleshot I got sometime ago,
since the modifiers of the old cherry keyboard doesn't fit to my Leopold switch stem position,
I have set them aside for a few months now, until I tried the black + green combination,
I find it not bad and realize that I have these doubleshot white on black keys sitting ideally in my drawer!
So I put them on, replacing the Leopold's A~z, numbers, and etc x1.0 keys, and replace the modifier with the green modifier from the CC&G sets, turn out not bad at all! then since there are many others double shot sitting in the drawer too, I start playing around with it, until what shows on the photo @@..... What to say.?

I replace the black 8 ball with the red lightning bolt key, since one black key at that position aren't fit in well.
Alien at Insert key, (there might be some shape shifting Aliens inserted among human race as spy?)
and far away~ key are Alien too.
Delete key replace with the Cue key from Billiard key set, deleted hence blank :P
Solviet hammer sickle at Esc, 5 and 0 key,
the home and end key replace with the reverse and inverse Pi key,
cat paw on page up and down, foot prints, why not?
/ key for lightning bolt, same angle anyway.
the yin and yang, for the arrow keys, in x and y axis, some how reflect the ancient Chinese philosophy, no?
J & F, the CC&G's Cream color with green lettering, for easier recognition.

most of the keys available at Techkeys I got from Techkeys, but I m not sure of the billiard keys,
Back when I do not have a Pay-pal account,
I joined the groupbuy started by a forum in Malaysia, where I m.
I m not sure where the group leader get our billiards sets.

^ That board definitely looks interesting.

I have quite a few of your keys now, half of them being gifts, the least I could do is make an attempt to promote them for you. My pictures aren't the best but I'll attempt some nicer ones once my Filco returns :)
