Is the kit going to come with a keycap puller?

A keycap puller option will be added to the GB.

This is getting even better, thank you Matt.

i am surprised there are not more ergodox orders, there was more Calm Depths ErgoDox kit orders i think than this and SA is NOT the set you should be using for an ergodox unless you have a tall wrist rest and have your wrists higher up yet still level with arms/elbows (low desk). for proper ergonomics DSA, love it or hate it, is the best profile for the ergodox.

This is only the second time after retro dsa that you can create a proper ergodox where all your keys have legends, but this time in awesome long-lasting dye-sub pbt. In some ways you could call it THE essential set to get for ergodox users.

Everything I've ordered (except mono-legend) has finally tipped!
I'm super excited!

I'm actually quite happy about the ergodox so far - it's roughly a quarter of set purchases assuming everyone also bought a common, and people seem to be happy with the legends :)

I of course wouldn't complain if it hit the 50 tier :D

Still amazingly few blank sets, even the blank RGB!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

it's not going to be one of those 'ring' pullers is it...?

matteo, are you happier with the GB than you were earlier?  I'm not sure what a GB organizer's definition of success is.

It looks like they are just going to give the option for people to purchase either kind with their order.

I would have been disappointed under 100 common kit.

My estimate was between 150 and 200, so it seems I was pretty close. That being said I'm really surprised that ISO enter didn't reach 25 yet.

Few more updates

- The Nerdom kit now includes both the bitcoin logo AND the MX Switch at the same price
- You can add a key puller to your order!

Cyrillic set tipped at last! Yay! Well, now I can even hope it'll reach next tipping point (not very probably, yes, but hey - I CAN dream)

Oh, and I hope all other kits will tip too - for all who selected them ;)

Matt3o, I was gonna ask anyway - in Cyrillic set there are separate keys with Russian and Ukrainian symbols for some keys. Not that I complaining - this set is awesome as it is... but in my country sometimes you can buy keyboards, which are contain symbols for Russian and Ukrainian layout at the same time - there are plenty of space on keys anyway :) It'd be nice if keys with Ukrainian symbols also contained Russian one - because Ukrainians often use Russian on various sites anyway. I know, this is probably not possible, but it'd be nice :)

Oh, and thanks for good selection of Nerdom keys! I'd probably use some of them for pn/fn keys.

thanks for your input mougrim. Now it's a bit late to make modifications, you should have really participated in the Interest Check. I know very little about Cyrillic and that's the best I could do.

If there are errors I can surely correct them, though

Heh, then I didn't even known about GBs, I think :)

Yeah, I know, it's too late. Just - it's not your last GB, I'm sure, so I tell it only for future references ;) But it's very good as it is - it's cool to be able to have 2 distinct layout - Russian and Ukrainian - separately ;)

Nope, there are no mistakes, at least in Cyrillic set. All letters where they are should be ;)

Hnnng!

So exciting to hear! I also see the wire cap puller has been added to the GB page :thumb:

Was there a mockup or confirmation on the final few keys for the nerdom kit? I really liked the top view Cherry switch, might have to add the kit to my order if it ended up as a final design...

My estimate was between 150 and 200, so it seems I was pretty close. That being said I'm really surprised that ISO enter didn't reach 25 yet.

So as somebody who uses the UK ISO layout extensively, loves DSA but didn't order the ISO enter key (I'm not complaining here, just highlighting why I think the ISO isn't selling as high as you'd hoped).

To get the UK layout I have to pay $31 for a set of 55 keys of which I need just 6 and $20 for two ISO's when I only want one. That's basically $51 for 7 keys - and it's a tax you pay for ISO every time you jump into a new group-buy.

Personally I'm considering switching to a US layout with either £ soft-mapped to 3 or just slapping the extra key between Z and shift to create a pseudo-ISO layout that removes future GB resistance. I appreciate that this is only really an option for Brits as we really don't have a lot of extra symbols we need mapped.

I know but you could still use novelty keys instead of language specific (and grab the ISO enter anyway).

The options were: have 1 kit per language and see only few tipped, have just 2 or 3 big language kits and have all tipped.

I don't know if the decision I took was the right one, but at the end the language kits hit the MOQ and I'm pretty happy about that. Next time I might explore different solutions.

It might be useful to know what languages the kits break into if people want to buy one in the hope they can split it and country-specific ones off? I'm assuming some of the languages have overlap in keys used.

I supose they have redundant keys included in the two groups: DE, IT, FR and NO, SW, FI, DK, ES, UK however neither was a good fit for my needs. I write in American and UK English, Spanish, and French, using an ANSI keyboard with international english, and I found only one useful key in the first group, and two in the second. So I did not find a good reason to spend $31 for two keys.

Maybe next time a common international kit, plus language specific ones could be defined. It may be too hard, though. Or they may not reach MOQ, so it does not seem to be an easy solution.

As someone who is interested in perhaps using these caps for a custom built keyboard, how do I know what kind of stabilizers I would need for the spacebar/shift/enter keys, etc? Even if I were just to buy these to use on my CM QFR, the spacebar in this Granite Set doesn't seem compatible as the QFR looks to have a stabilizer spring? Thanks and sorry for the noob question.

The caps don't mind what stabilizers you use - that's really down to what the PCB or plate offers. You can grab Costar-style from WASD - Cherry style are a little trickier to source. About the only complication is the stabilizer bar for a 7x spacebar if you go that route (1.5 CTRL/ALT instead of 1.25 CTRL/OS/ALT) which you might need to make yourself using wire and a bender.

I got some cash for my b-day today, so I think I will put it towards this. I have not ordered yet cause I want the icon packs, but I don't want to pay the icon prices. Guess I will make a game time decision near the end on which direction I will go.

I agree with you, do not buy the icon modifiers, Let them to be the limited edition they are, If you buy them now, more people may get them at a lower price, which is not fair for the finest art they are.  ;)

the problem with this gb system is that most people thinks like you (including myself), hence the price MIGHT not drop even at the last day since it's a lot of risk taking for the buyer.
unless SP gives the option to cancel the order, but that will create another issue if the cancellation causes the quantity to drop to the previous tier.

MD solved that dilemma via "Commit to join @ certain price". Would be nice if would SP implement something similar.

Exactly.  I think that would be the best way to do it.

Luckily, enough folks aren't so timid, or the sets I want would never have tipped.

Sarcasm aside, we should encourage ourselves to join the GB earlier, that benefits all of us.

What happens with EVERY GB is that there is a lot of orders in the beginning, not so many in the middle, and then a bunch in the last few days
