Sarcasm aside, we should encourage ourselves to join the GB earlier, that benefits all of us.

What happens with EVERY GB is that there is a lot of orders in the beginning, not so many in the middle, and then a bunch in the last few days

Yeah, the bathtub distribution for failure rate, but in this case applied to the orders frequency.

Well if I knew I wanted the text kits, then I would just order now because it would not matter.  Since I want the icon kits and they are substantially more expensive, I have to make a hard decision between the text and icons.  I am hoping the decision will be easier nearer to the end of the GB.  :)

i guess the people promoting 'commit early' aren't the ones participating in ivan's black pbt or pexon's poker case gbs.

both of those got absolutely murdered by dropouts.

the best solution is 'commit'.  failing that, we need a 'closing soon' notification.

I'm in for a case and a cable from pexon.

I got some cash for my b-day today, so I think I will put it towards this. I have not ordered yet cause I want the icon packs, but I don't want to pay the icon prices. Guess I will make a game time decision near the end on which direction I will go.

I agree with you, do not buy the icon modifiers, Let them to be the limited edition they are, If you buy them now, more people may get them at a lower price, which is not fair for the finest art they are.  ;)

LOL  :D

MD solved that dilemma via "Commit to join @ certain price". Would be nice if would SP implement something similar.

This together with other ideas is in my report I will be sending SP at the end of the GB.

I'm interested in buying the common kit with text modifiers, but I want to use a Visa gift card that only has $75 (caps cost $73 with shipping right now). Will the payment hold be an issue?

Can't see how, as I've added to my order via gift card with no issues.

I'm on both those, a plate from strict and will be adding this over the weekend. All icon and mono legends. I gotta try and stop it here, though. I'm trying to move in the next two months, haha. Then I find out mkb.com stocked up on greens. Ugh! WalletHack indeed.

Oh, and we need two more buyers for Blue Enter - come on, it will be only 6.50 then ;)

But I still can't fathom why blank kits actually cost more than printed... When you manufacture sublimated-printed keys, you basically START with blank keys, right?

gosh I've said this 100 times. Let's make this the last one :)

There are sets that (probably) can be manufactured anyway. I haven't spoken with SP yet but I'm pretty sure they will pass to the manufacturing phase. One of them is Blank RGB which is identical to the other legended RGB sets. Same goes for the Blank ISO.

The base blank and the additional blank modifiers are different setups, we do not have the same setup in legended mode, so it's unlikely that they will be manufactured if we don't reach the MOQ.

That being said, if the GB is very successful (as it seems it will be) maybe we will have some leverage on SP.

I feel like this one had a slow start, then ramped up a bit, then Matt added a rendering, then it skyrocketed. I have a feeling its going to finish strong.

Blue Enter **** yeah!

We desperately need:
- 8 ISO Enter (!!!!)
- 6 Windowed
- 4 mono legend

Close to next tier
- 2 Text Modifier (that won't be a problem I guess)
- 1 Icon Pro Modifiers
- 2 WASD
- 2 Nerdom
- 3 Cyrillic

Blue Enter got to next tier! Yay! Now I could only wish for another three Cyrillic set :)

Oh, and another 10 icon modifiers. New buyers - I must say to you, that in my humbly opinion icon modifiers are waaay better than text ones ;) And another ten kits save another eight bucks for us all :)

Hi All,

This group buy looks like a great setup! There was a comment earlier in the thread about the seemingly low number of Ergodox orders, I might of found a reason. I hate to be to be criticizing your hard work Matt3o, Just hoping that there is a chance to adjust things to make the set a better fit.

I laid out the setup to figure out which key sets I would need and it seems neither the Icon/Text Pro Mod set or the Ergodoxian set have a 1.5 Tab key. You'd have to get the Icon/Text (non pro) Mod set (which is, by design, mostly filled with keys that won't fit an Ergodox) or go with the blank set. Springing for 36$ over the 115$ for the 3 base Ergodox sets for one key is a bit of a barrier. I know it's late in the game but any chance we could get a 1.5 tab key added to the Ergodoxian or Icon/Text Pro set?

At this stage I can't add/remove other keys.

Normally you'd have to take the full TKL set as a minimum, this GB is not different. The difference is that a full TKL keyboard will end up costing $62, which is pretty reasonable for a full PBT sublimated set. The split between common and modifiers is not because you can get one or another, but because you can choose between icon and text.

There seems to be quite some interest in Ergodox sets, sooner or later we might organize something specifically crafted for ergodox.

The ergodox kit is great. While it is not 100%, and some people's preferred layouts may be different, it pretty much solves the problem that I first had with the ergodox. The only key sets available were DCS and blank.

I've ordered so many of the kits expecting to pay full price, that I think I may round everything out and pick up another base set too. Then I can have my choice of icon's or texts, rgb or not, and with an extra base set I can do an additional keyboard with the 'spares'.

Now, someone should point out a good 60% -> TKL board I can get off Amazon (so my job will buy it for me), I'd be set.

But then I made that ridiculously low bid on a Filco on Ebay and won it. Looks like I need some keycaps now. And some professional help maybe.

Can't see how, as I've added to my order via gift card with no issues.

I had some trouble getting my card to work with Paypal; I registered it online but I also had to call the number. No problems after that.

So just to be clear, if I want a full Ergodox set I would need to get the common kit, the text modifiers, and the ergodoxian?  What does it mean eventually get a half ergodoxian set?  Could I also get a common kit, text modifiers, and then this ergodox modifier kit?

they only recently added the giftcard option, previously to that I was using them as "regular" credit cards after registering them online with no issues.

depends on your config, if you miss some keys you can get a half ergodox blank to fill the voids.
