Wow... GreyAmbience, whilst your opinion is yours and totally valid, there is something to be said about having a modicum of tact.
Firstly no one is forcing you to buy artisan caps you don't like, I don't see why this all needs to be said, people who like these caps might now feel like there is something wrong with their taste because these sculpts are apparently in your opinion bad.. If you don't like something just don't buy it, and if you feel the need to be critical have some tact, when people make caps, keysets, boards, cables, cases whatever it is they put a lot of their time and soul in to put it out into the community, and I can tell you it's a scarey thing doing that, as unless you have overflowing self confidence you are always worried people will hate it and shoot you down. Be careful with how you throw around your opinion, as it is honestly that, an opinion.
I am honestly a huge fan of Krytone, both his caps and himself, he is one of my closest mates in the community. So I am a bit biased.. but that said I have both the keyti and the karuma, and whilst I don't think they are as good as the Osu and the Huskey (and he knows those two are by far my fav caps of his <3) I still think they are really fkn cool caps.. the thing with them is that the sculpt is purposefully simple, it's called taking a design and making it stylized. He has portrayed a fox and a cat with very little detail, look at impressionist painters, this is a pretty hard thing to do and imo pretty impressive. I also think that these simple designs are an amazing vessel for resin work, the more simple a design is the better it shows of the attributes of resin, and I really appreciate this as another maker.
Whilst they are different than other artisans because they stand up and are an odd shape, I, personally think this is really cool, not every artisan needs to be flat and key shaped, a lot of Krytones are and they fill that need, these are two where he has tried to do something new and different with the medium, sure not everyone will like it, but I honestly doubt he is trying to appeal to everyone, he's trying to do something new and unique and I admire that. If you don't like them, once again don't buy them.
I feel coming out here saying they look like something a 7 year old has made is terribly unfair and rude. You know from his past work and his future sculpts (that he has teased) he has skill, maybe give him the benefit of the doubt and realise that he is trying something new and unusual, not just being lazy. The other option would be to contact him with the feedback in private channels, give him the feedback and chat to him about it, see if he can't sway you to see his vision he had with these caps.
Making stuff for a bunch of strangers on the internet is nerve wracking, it's scary as **** putting yourself out there. I feel posts that shut them down for having different tastes or taking a different track with their designs are grossly unfair, you can't like everything everyone makes, and no one expects you to, artisans are very personal and not all artisan will appeal to all people, I know mine don't. If they had bubbles and **** all over them it'd be a totally different story, but these do not.
