the surroundings of the Gateron clear one has a little bit of a matte finish when you zoom in a bit. I think that's why it might look a bit greyish to you.  ^-^

What would have been perfect though is if the ErgoDox had an option for backlighting, giving me a good reason to SIP socket each switch, while applying stickers, lube and the clear tops. Pure OCD bliss.

Mostly this. It's the finish but even without that the plastic of the Gaterons is slightly "greyer".

Got mine today too. I didn't order much as I wasn't sure I would like them. I will need more... but I want to try red and yellow too.
The blacks are really good. The blues have a much more satisfying click than Cherry and a better tone. I think the clears are going to be a bit too light for practical use.

Im looking for a TKL layout, and i feel like buying a pcb + plates + case ect ect ect would cost more than just buying the Noppoo and re soldering the switches.

Im looking for a TKL layout, and i feel like buying a pcb + plates + case ect ect ect would cost more than just buying the Noppoo and re soldering the switches.

The Lolita would be cheaper; but, an actual custom keyboard is programmable, but of course, it comes with a premium cost with it. Personally I would not invest my time in a stock keyboard, just to customize the switches, unless it is programmable, or if it has my preferred layout. Otherwise, I would go for something like a Gon keyboard in my preferred size. Happy hacking.
