[IC] DGL TKL Keyboard | GB is starting soon.
« on: Wed, 15 April 2020, 12:38:58 »

ㄲㅣㅇㄲㅗㅇ
DGL TKL

Hello World,

I am Chanmin Kang, a keyboard designer and manufacturer based in Korea. As a keeb enthusiast (just like all of you guys!), I have dedicated a lot of time and effort into coming up with some creative keyboard designs with funky appearance and deep sounds, and have run quite a few domestic GBs under "4K" or "KKKK" branding so far. Now I plan to launch overseas sales for those who may be interested, and am pleased to present to you ㄲㅣㅇㄲㅗㅇ DGL TKL

Just like any other GBs around here, the process will kick off with an interest check (IC) to gauge your interest in the board. Happy to hear your thoughts and feedback on the design, but just a declaimer that below design is pretty much finalized and won't be changed unless absolutely necessary. But please don't be shy to show your reaction if you like the board - assume y'all are all stuck at home and have nothing else to do anyways!

※The design below has been finalized and will not be changed.

[Board Specs]
- Sandwich-mount
- Indicator LEDs
- Centered USB Type-C Port
- Pointed plate
- RGB strip at the bottom
- 7 degree angle
- 1.5cm (~0.6") height from the front
- 4T plate (THICK) for quiet and uniform typing feels
- PCB also supports QMK and Type-C and includes 17 RGB LEDs
- Supports both ANSI and ISO layouts

※ Typing Video ※

We paid a lot of attention to the design and the quiet typing.
We used a 4T thick plate for quietness and uniformity.

The PCB also supports QMK and Type-C and includes 17 RGB LEDs.
It also supports ANSI and ISO layouts.

We offer several customization options.
You can choose between anodizing and a CERAKOTE™ coating.
The following colors are available for selection:

Top and Bottom : Silver, Black, Gray, Red, Orange gold, Metal Green, White*, Beige*

Plate : Silver, Black, Gray, Red, Orange gold, Metal Green

Point Plate(Located at the bottom of the keyboard.) : Silver, Black, Gray, Red, Orange gold, Metal Green, White*, Beige*

*: Cerakote™ Coating, There is an additional charge for this.

Base set with case, plate, PCB, front acrylic diffuser : $450
If you purchase the product, it will be sent via EMS.

We are closely monitoring the evolving situation with the COVID-19 Virus spreading around the world.
Currently, there is no problem with our shipping process and shipment.
However, some countries are currently blocking shipments from Korea.

If you do not receive the products shipped from Korea from your area of residence, we can ship them after COVID-19 is resolved and the restriction is lifted.

Here is a picture of the people who received the product from Korea.

I like the border, it adds to the presence.

What's the weight of the case when put together?

It's quoted as $450 in the text and I assume this includes the EMS delivery.

Prices vary depending on the exchange rate, which may increase slightly from GB.

The price does not include shipping charges.

The price shown is the same as the price we sold in Korea, and different delivery fees will be charged for each country.

I liked it before and I still like it.  Would prefer to have a version with no LED diffuser on the front, but that's my personal preference.  I love that beige on beige one.  What keycaps are those?  Minimal?  Carbon with Umka Mods?

Is there a way to get a more frosted acrylic for the front so that the LEDs diffuse better?

Is is hot-swappable?

(Can you use it without soldering?)

Basically we use transparent acrylics, but we've made a few because we know some of them want translucent diffusers. This was effective.

Maybe you should choose the Sandblast Finish option.

No, the PCB is not fixed somewhere. You can use pin receptacles, but if you remove all the switches at once, not part of it, the PCB won't hold.
If this happens, you will need to remove all the screws on the case to reconnect the switch.

Is the escape R1? While the F keys are R0? By color I thought it was minimal but the profile has me at Umka.

Like your frosted idea

This is a red anodizing color.

There is another update.
We are informing you that we have started a test production of a 4T brass plate.

It's really refreshing to see a board like this.
TKLs that look unique from the top are hard to come by; love the inlay(?) plate.

What's the weight of the case when put together?

Would also be interested in a weigh-in, it looks pretty hefty.

I might be crazy, but I think the mono tone (like the beige with beige and navy/navy) looks the best.  The inner corners have a different radius than the outer edges that looks a bit "off" to me on the high contrast colors.

As a result of our measurements, the finished keyboard weighs about 2.8kg.

The LED strip seems unnecessary / looks really bad IMO. The overall keyboard looks great and slick without any apparent screws but with this led strip.

I really like tho two tones and the presence of this board but I can't stand this led thing.

Good luck with the GB, it is still a really nice board at a great price ;)

The PCB is made to be Alps compatible. However, Alps compatible plates are not in the current plan.

Is it possible to have more sound tests?

The colors combination is OP. I completed the form, hope this will help you.

After taking a deep breath, I can overstep this led thing. I really thing that this is a nice product tho I would prefer no bottom led strip for a seemsless full metal enclosure.

T usually refers to mm. 4T is 4mm thick and 1.5mm is 1.5T.
