DIY legends, style advice needed ...

Hi.. I'm working on a template for printing/engraving custom keycap legends and need some advice regarding style ... which looks better:
a)
all alternate legends are positioned some mm
off
the horizontal center of the keycap
or
b)
all alternate legends are positioned some mm
off the right rim of the keycap
For the legends on the 1U caps there is effectively no difference between a) und b).
But for the larger caps ( 1.75U 2.25U 2.75U ) it looks ****ty either way, no? Any advice?

I'd say keep the legends "together" - the first picture looks better to me. Bu that's just me

I guess my mistake was to assume an absolute value of milimeters. Instead, the magic position the eye wants to see, is probably midway between the caps center and the outer rim. The blue marked crosses here:

How does it look with the alternate legend centred but with N spaces before the text where N is the length of the main legend +1 or 2? This should look like they are stuck on the top corner of the main legend, as on the 1Us.

suicidal_orange, right that was my former option a), no? It looks off for the larger caps, see screenshot on my first post. Or do you mean something else?

No, A is X mm from the centre line while I'm thinking centred like the main legend but with extra invisible text. Your font looks to be monospace so a code box can mimic it:
Code:
[Select]
___" _____:
DOT COMMA
Replace the underscores with the same number of spaces as the length of the main legend (not +1 as I guessed), the alternative legend will be slightly left when centred so should look a lot like the alignment on the 1U caps which may or may not look good but is an option D

Finally, I got it ;-) Here is the sketch. Ye, your proposal is more harmonious to the eye. The alt legends seem to be more "attached" to the main legend, while halfway between center and rim they seem like "lost" somewhere in no man's land.
