Few quick questions  ;D

The PCB in this Groupbuy is this one, right?
http://winkeyless.kr/product/b-mini-x2-pcb/

The Controller Parts, Diodes and Resistors are part of the shipment?
Or are already solderd to the PCB?

Kind regards

Can you add support for split space bad? (something like "2. 75 1. 25 2. 75)?
Winter is coming.

This is using the winkeyless.kr PCB, which doesn't support that.

Do we have a choice between North or South LED positions?

Would we have to solder diodes ourselves or can we order them presoldered?

Depends on your location, check the section I made for shipping.

It is that PCB. Parts are already soldered, you'll need to do the resistors yourselves as it depends on what color you want.

Can you add support for split space bad? (something like "2. 75 1. 25 2. 75)?

The PCB doesn't support that so no - see the colorful picture for layout options.

Do we have a choice between North or South LED positions?

I'll be picking South facing, so that the Cherry logo is the right way. If this is an issue for everyone in the GB then I'll change it.

Would we have to solder diodes ourselves or can we order them presoldered?

If you want to solder them, chose it on the form. If not, I'll be doing the soldering.

do u have any prototype of this keyboard?

No. But everything fits due to the simplicity of it. It would cost $270ish per kit if I ordered 1.

Here is a different layout/keyboard but the exact same idea. It will look like this but 75% layout.

Here is an example photo of what an assembled ANSI 1.50 Winkey kit looks like: (credit to jdcarpe)

another question: How can I program this board? (or is an teensy/something similar pre-soldered onto the pcb?

Can you please check shipping costs to Germany? (It says ~55€ to me, is this wrong?)

It is a standard winkeyless PCB therefore you can program it how you want, see this setup guide here for more information.

Shipping should be around $18 - how did you come to that price?

I really cant say, most likely I entered some wrong informations

can you please update the thread how many kits are sold? I think I would join (most likely) for the 135$ option.

How much is an backplate/top plate? And is money saving if soldering diodes myself possible?

I've added an option in the form to commit at $135. The top/bottom plates would be -$50 from each price point. My soldering is free; the option is just there in case someone want's to solder the diodes on themselves.

Essentially yes - it's more like 65/35 due to the complexity of the top plate.

You really should have a prototype made, just to make sure that the top plate fits.  It would be a waste of alot of people's money if these were cut and it turned out that something was a fraction of a millimeter off...

What would be able to go wrong? Many people have used the exact same service and process to do what I'm doing and it's worked out fine. I've spoke to a few people that generated the files through swillkb and then used BBS and it's gone flawlessly.

The whole reason this came about is due to a one off being very expensive - a few people said they'd be interested in doing a tiny group buy around it so I'm offering it to everybody.

I'll be running more skeleton group buys if this goes well, so feel free to join those. If you're sceptical now, then I will refund your money if it goes wrong for you.

That's kind of vague.  Perhaps pics of these completed projects?

For a person who has classified sales because "money," and backs in and out of group buys, you don't exactly inspire confidence in being able to issue refunds if something goes wrong.

I wish you luck in this, and I hope it goes off without a hitch.

Just want to point out something, I remembered something was odd about winkeyless pcb when I built mine so I took a look at the case drawing on his site.

As you can see the backspace and left shift have reversed orientation for stabilizers, right now your schematic has all the stabilizers facing south. You might run into clearance issue with that.

Also just a minor point but stepped cap support would be nice.

This is exactly why you build a prototype and do a fit check.

The stabilizers are pcb mount, so the wires should be under the plate.  The stabilizer holes he's chosen will not have any sort of issues.

Neither plate doesn't support plate mount stabilizers. This means that the wires are under the plate.

The PCB doesn't support stepped caps lock - it would be nice but its impossible.

I've contacted Hojin for clarification on the stepped caps lock support as his pictures conflict.

The holes are OK, but their orientations are not compatible with the chosen pcb. Glancing the pcb I see that the ANSI enter and spacebar are OK, all other stabilizer notches should be rotated 180 degrees around the stabilized switch.

Good news - yuktsi, the creator of the TGR customs, has taken time to create a new top plate design to accommodate for the PCB compatible stabilizers.  I will update the main post with updated screenshots and compatibility previews in a hour or so. I will still be getting a prototype made, just to be sure, and I would like to deeply thank yuktsi for the assistance.

Updated with 'renders' of the updated top plate (& bottom for good measure). For all that were concerned, please check the stabilizer positions and correct us if we have made a mistake. A prototype will be ordered promptly tomorrow.

A bit of a late reply from me. The updated plate design looks to be compatible with the pcb. My only complaint would be that the ISO enter area is a bit lazily drawn and the switch is not supported by the plate from the right side. Take a look at Gon tkl plate design for the 'optimal' shape, just add the switch top removal notches.

If you can help me make this addition to the file then that'd be great, otherwise you have to understand that my options are limited and it won't make a noticeable difference. Take the Orion V2 as an example, same as mine and no one complained. A prototype is currently in production - I will see if it makes a difference.
