[SG] Keyboard Services
« on: Tue, 15 July 2014, 09:21:50 »
I am based in Singapore and have been modding keyboards since 2014.

What I can do:
- Soldering/Desoldering
- Switch/Stabilizer lubrication

Prices will be quoted when you describe to me what are the mod(s) you require.

few things for the potential customer to note

Current gear for
Soldering: Hakko FX-888D
Desoldering: Hakko FR-301
Solder: Kester 67/33 lead solder
Lubes: GPL 205g0, GPL 103 (i'm able to make custom mixes), RO-59, Victorinox multitool oil for springs, GH v4 thick lube

you can have your items shipped to me (eg. purchases from mk, ek, other geekhackers) and i don't mind.

Hi,

Are you able to drill a hole in my aluminium plate for the caps lock LED?

Also, are you able to bend/straighten stabilizer bars?

How would you straighten the stabilizer bar?

Is it possible for me to send you my original bent one and just exchange for one that you've made straight?

I'm trying to fit the stabs to my plate like in this: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=57618.60 (see near bottom of page) so I just wanna straighten it but hopefully keep the length the same. Or if it's possible to bend the 2 side "legs" at an angle such that the bar won't hit the plate when the switch is depressed

What do you mean?

My current bar is something like this:

_______,--------------------,_________
|                                                     |

But what I want is this:

_______________________________
|                                                     |

EDIT: So... yeah sort of bending. but I want it to be the same length at the end lol otherwise it won't fit into the stabilizers

oh, i catch your drift. alright, i'll give it a shot. any reason why you would not bend it yourself? pliers and control is all you need ! :thumb:

Main reason was cause I tried myself but didn't work cause I don't think I did it right.

And secondly... it's cause it''s my only stab bar LOL

Will bump this up, nobody wants a free soldering job? It's the holidays so other than a few spare jobs I have nothing to do but game all day which is not productive!

cool!! i may need your help if my resoldering attempts fail me...
FYI, planning to mod my old blackwidow ultimate as well since one of the LEDs has gone out.
But for now, I'm still unsure whether it's the LED or the resistor. is there any way to test?

My guess is the led, but I cannot be too sure, use a multimeter to test the led?

No multimeter :D
I will give it a shot when my LEDs come in. If it's dead, would you happen to have a surface mounted resistor? 470 ohm size 0603(US)?
Or do you happen to know where to purchase it?
Something like http://www.rf-microwave.com/en/shop/1/14-0603-case/187-R-0603-470R.html

You can try mouser, and I don't have any resistors on hand.

Hi there!

Would you still be offering this service? Have plans to change the switches on a razer bw chroma TE, so about 87x switches and leds to desolder.

Hope you respond!

I know this is a pretty old post. But do you still do modding?

Do you repair keyboards? My RK61 I modded, the F key is not working, and I was told I need to do a bridge. Can you please help?
