Title: "flattened" caps for cherry mx switches?
Post by: shodan on Tue, 20 August 2013, 01:14:59
hello geekhack :)

It's supposed to be a ducky dragon, but it looks more like Frankenstein's monster. right now I feel like I'm typing on 6 rows of broken teeth.

see, this board mainly for starcraft II. I play with ~20 key-caps removed intentionally in order to minimize mis-clicks (for example, 'X', 'N' and the space-bar are gone so that I can hit 'C', 'V' and 'B' with my thumb). I don't want my ducky to become as ugly as this:

I'm hoping someone could guide me in buying some very short key-caps to cover up the naked switches. they would have 0.5mm or smaller, kinda like the caps you find on your average laptop. do key-caps like this exist for MX switches? ~

thanks for helping out a newbie

And if you want to "lock" these keys so that you don't accidentally depress them, Signature Plastics also sells Key Lock-Outs (scroll down a bit)

no idea but what a lot of us do is flip our spacebar around the opposite direction.

You can get keyblockers from xkeys. They seem to be identical to the ones ACCESS uses on their POS boards. http://www.piengineering.com/accessories/keycaps1.php#

This keyboard is a Ducky Year of the Dragon?

What are you talking about?

In any case, these don't look like Cherry MX keys. Obviously you made amistake.
