Hi guys
« on: Mon, 17 September 2012, 14:22:33 »
Hi everyone!

I think I've read a lot here (and on dt) since 2 weeks and here I am with a brand new Filco tkl. I'm loving it!
I'm in the process of getting adicted by the "clac clac" sound which is new for me. And thanks to you my thinkpad keyboard feel so wrong now ;(

My next step is now to get some cute keycaps and customize this thing a little ! :) I'll try to be reasonable with my wallet, I promise !

Welcome to Geekhack!

The sound does become rather hypnotic at times ;)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Is your "clac clac" sound from bottoming out or do you have mx blues? If it is the latter, I believe we refer to this as "click clack"... which is not to be mistaken with the custom keycap producer.  :P

Welcome to GH.

My wife I a also push her button . But now she have her button push by a different men. So I buy a keyboard a mechanicale, she a reliable like a Fiat.

Actually it's because I'm bottoming out, so it's more clac clac :)

I don't have blues but brown. Would like to try some blues some day though but had to make a choice without testing and I thought blues would make to much noise.

Thanks all!
