I don't think that would work, since the slider is what drives the key down uniformly.  Without that, I think switch would get very wobbly in the housing.

Idk I feel like Topre is in need of love. There are so many cool artisan mx caps and sets while Topre has kinda gone forgotten a bit. Those gaming sets and fn's are ****ing dope as **** and I wish they were mx but it's only fair to share the love!
