Thanks, it's really nice to have a brand new in-box one.

It's actually a rubber dome membrane keyboard, but it's exceptionally good for a membrane board. Very tactile and nice sound, high quality keycaps and overall build. The sound is even decent with it. It's unlike any other rubber dome I've used. Some people compare these with Topre, but I don't think it's quite like that... the tactility is a bit more sharp and the bottom-out isn't quite as harsh.

I got it as I'm 95% sure that this is the exact model that my family got with our first computer when I was a kid. It likely won't see regular use, but as part of the collection -- like my '87 IBM SSK M.

awesome sounding stuff.  I like that it holds a special place for you because of the nostalgia.  I do like a nice rubber dome.  I break out my quiet key every now and then.  It's not nearly as pretty as the one you show here though.

I like that it has nostalgic value for you.  I also like to break out a rubber dome every now and then. I really like my quietkey.  This one is much better looking though.

The photos don't do it justice as my iPhone makes everything look like an oil painting.

One of the reasons I like collecting keyboards is that they are one of the only computing items that haven't become obsolete over the decades. I have several boards now that are over 20-30 years old and still perfectly fine for use today with modern computers (with a few adapters).

Got 6ml of VPF1514, 10 of each type of TTC orange switches, & some stickers from Mehkee. Then a KDBfans alum. 60% case I got off of r/mm. Bonus pic of my Pok3r in the case. The TTC orange switches are pretty much garbage, although I figured that going in & grabbed them just to have for my collection. The housings are super thin & none of them feel that great. Surprisingly though they are fairly smooth, especially the linear ones. The tactile ones are basically browns & the stem doesn't really have much tactility to even in better housings. The clicky ones are the worst of the lot due to all the noise they make. The tolerances on the click jacket are pretty loose causing the switches to have a rattle to them when pressed. The only one worth anything would be the linears for stem swaps if you really wanted orange stems IMHO.

Got the remainder of the R6 caps I was looking for, now have just about every V&C cap I need as well as some mod keys for my Space Cadet set (not pictured). Took a good bit of time to get everything sorted, should have everything I need for a nice 100% board (and more).

A switch tester with 25 MX switches I have not tried & a small batch of Cherry silent blacks from NovelKeys. Two 2ml vials of Tribosys 3204 lube & 121 light green vinyl switch stickers from TechKeys.
189633-1
My growing switch collection ;D Just started it really, but after having a bunch of extras lying around from builds. I figured why not start a collection of them, considering i collect mostly everything else MKB related.
189635-2
Bonus pic of the finished cables from the DIY kits I got the other day. Pretty happy with them, the grey/white one matches my 660C well & the neon green/black one matches JTK toxic pretty good.

Got my ACR60 kit in from Mechkeys.ca today, which is actually 3 days earlier than I expected it so that's a bonus! Everything seems pretty nice about it, the PCB is clean & has lots of layout options, the plate was surprisingly straight & clean, then even the frosted acrylic case (seems to be 3D printed) feels nice & sturdy. Pretty sure I'm gonna forgo the acrylic case for my KBDfans alum. 60% case though, the acrylic one feels really sturdy but is very light. Now just have to decide on if I'm gonna use 78g Zilents or BOX navys in it... :-\

I just got a broken //c to get some of those sweet, sweet, amber alps. They also threw in a free infocom game. This is destined for another custom handwired build. I will do my best to not eff this one up as hard as I did last time (although I am typing on that keyboard right now.)

Maybe most people use the left thumb? Maybe just because this way they only needed one stabilizer instead of two.

Was thinking the same thing.  Maybe most people use their left thumb for shift (can't remember for sure, but I think they do), and then it's easier to stabilize?

I don't know if you can see it, but there is a weird false switch over on the other side. This keyboard is missing whatever it was that went in there but I have seen this sort of stuff on other keyboards where the other side keeps the thing stable. There is still the stabilizer though so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A boring usb cable but even better were these dumbbells left on the floor next to my mailbox at my apartment. These truly are free weights.

The spacebar should have a little post that goes in that hole. It's just to keep it aligned correctly.

Edit: spelling >_<

Oooh, the pings!  I'm in love.  And the smell!  NIB.  The fumes of old electronics are overwhelming the room.  I hope it's toxic.  This is how I would wanna go.  Such a dreamy board.

Cat is wondering how the hell it hooks up to my computer.  I had to explain hasu's adapter to her in depth.
