Need help with Cherry G80-3464
« on: Thu, 11 January 2018, 09:20:12 »
Hi,
Recently I got a Cherry G80-3464HKGMB, but the wire is gone. I searching for a while but there are not much information about this keyboard. All I know is it using PS/2 port.
I ask for a friend to measure the pin out and solder a USB cable. But when plug it in, the 3 led is blinking 1 time and gone out, nothing working.
Can someone give me some advices.

Thank you so much.

Here the picture for USB cable:

Is this "HKGMB", as you wrote, or "HKMGB"?

Anyway, you should be able to find power and ground from those four wires just by a close inspection. If power and ground are correct (probably, or the lights wouldn't work at all), just swap the other two wires.

If PS/2 a USB cable won’t work.

You need to solder a ps2 cable to PCB and add a active ps2 to usb converter to it. That would be the most convenient way to make it works.

If PS/2 a USB cable won’t work.

That depends on the model. I would expect the middle letter to be "C" for combo PS/2 and USB operation, but Cherry were not consistent. Even then, the details of what exactly was done and how, are scarce.

Sorry, it is HKMGB. I just swap the data wires, but result still the same. I'm gonna find a PS/2 and a converter to try again tomorrow.
@Thank you all for helping me.
