TT Meka G1 keyboard fix?
« on: Wed, 05 December 2018, 20:26:23 »
I bought the first gen meka G unit mechanical keyboard with cherry mx black

My nephew came into my desk and ate something, he spilled ketchup on my keyboard , i cleaned it by removing my keycaps one by one.

It still works but when i press r or v it detects it as rv, if i press 8 or down button it detects it as 8+downbutton, if i press 5 or 6 it prints 56.

(something to notice is that neither of those buttons were touched when i cleaned the keyboard because they didnt got in contact with the ketchup.)
Does it has any fix?

this keyboard model  is hard to find and it would really suck to lose it this way

It sounds as though a trace on the PCB is short circuited to another (by ketchup). Did you fully disassemble the keyboard or just remove the keycaps? You may need to take it apart completely to access the PCB so that you can clean the traces with a bit of rubbing alcohol. It might be hard to get to the spots you need to clean though since they are probably between the plate and PCB.
Maybe they're waiting for gasmasks and latex to get sexy again.

The world has become a weird place.
