As the title says, I'm looking for a white keyboard to replace my Filco Majestouch, the one with the gold letters =)
I wanted to go TKL this time around and I was looking at another Filco or even a Leopold but I hear that they aren't exactly white but more greyish in color.
Then there is the Noppoo Choc Mini, I love the small form-factor of the keyboard but I prefer blank keys. (If I went this route would it be easy to replace my keycaps?)
Are these more white than the Filco/Leopold?
Then there is the PLU-87, sure it's cheap, but I'm pretty sure it won't match the quality of the filco.

I'd prefer to not have to "downgrade" in quality from the Filco, so naturally I thought Filco/Leopold. But now I'm not even sure how white they really are lol.

The whitest would be Ducky 1087 (w/ Ninja keycaps below).

Also the quality of PLU has improved a lot plus it's the second whitest. lol

Filco has more of a creamy white and leopold has more of a light grey white.

I own both, and IMO, the leopold white looks better.

But if you want the whitest, try finding a ducky.

Ninja'd by reaper and his awesome keyboard.

Great thanks guys, that was quick!!! I heard there being issues with the mini-usb on the Ducky coming loose, is this something I should worry about?

I believe it only applies to earlier batches.  The later ones are ok.

Great to hear, I always liked the idea of having the mini-usb plug just in case you somehow break the cord. Now where am I gonna get myself one of these in white? All i found was the Rabbit edition but I'm looking for a TKL.

Between those two, PLU ML-87 is definitely whiter...  and easier to find compatible spacebar than with the Leopold.

But isn't the Filco and Leopold really similar? I'd imagine those two could use the same keycaps. Noppoo Choc Mini anyone??

Not derail the OP but do any of you know how the white WASD keycaps match the white Leopold?
They don't, they match with the light grey (which is more white than grey).

Similar in what way? Color? Not at all.

You can swap keycaps but the color is way different. Also, spacebar won't fit going from one to the other.

Yup, I think I've seen a picture of it somewhere on the forum and I didn't like the looks of it (the keycaps are whiter than the case).

I've got a brand spanking new Compaq 11800 in the Classified section.  It is white and has PBT lasered keys.

You got a "white" one? Mine had beige key caps. Darker than both modern light grey Cherry PBT caps and beige caps from old Cherry beige/grey keyboards (PBT and ABS double-shots).
Mind also that PBT key caps don't turn more yellow over time -- that happens only to ABS key caps.

I have ordered a white TKL Leopold and it should be here maybe tomorrow or on tuesday. I also have a "Light gray" key cap from WASD. I am actually very curious to see how they match. I will upload some pics as soon as I get the board (:

Edit: I am typing on a  rubber dome board atm and so may letters fail to register when I type... so i had to edit. I cant wait to get my Leopold

They match almost perfectly with the stock keycaps. Actually, I'd say they match perfectly. I'll take a pic of the WASD geekhack set with one of the leopold blanks when I get a chance.

Great! In this case I will order non sculpted keys for the windows buttons. I really dont like the sculpted design. Its like the windows key is trying to be something more than the rest... unacceptable :P

here's a crappy picture (i really need to get a better camera than what my phone has)

left WASD white, middle WASD light grey, right leopold stock "white"

as you can see, the difference is very minimal.. and i actually think my camera is making it stand out more. it's hardly, if that, noticeable IRL.

Kind of disappointing that the Filco isn't actually white. =( I wonder if the PLU-87 will provide similar quality (more white than Noppoo/Leopold?).

rofl yeah so I decided not to go with the Ducky... Noppoo Choc Mini vs KBC Poker anyone? I want the one which is more whiter (I know if I went with the KBC I'd have to get white keycaps) and just curious, I heard some problems with the "F" key on the Poker, what's this about? (or was it the Noppoo lol)

Looks nice, love the color but looks as if it will be pretty hard to get here in the states. Right now I'm having trouble picking between the Noppoo Choc Mini and the PLU-87. Does the Noppoo in white still come with POM keycaps? That could be the deciding factor lol, if anyone have some pictures of it in white, would be really helpful. I'd like to compare it to the whiteness of the PLU.

Or should I just get the Poker and get some PBT White keycaps.... Oh so many options *sigh

i believe imsto has a picture of a filco with white PBT keycaps.. it really shows how creamy the white is.

M.stone = Pure white
Filco = Milk white / Ivory White / Off white
Cherry = Very Light Gray / Dirty White
PLU = Very Light Gray / Dirty White
Leopold = ??? (dont have one but it looks to be Very Light Gray / Dirty White)
Ducky = Pure white
Ducky Rabbit = (Milk white / Ivory White / Off white) Shell, (Pure White) keycaps = Epic Fail

If you get white keycaps for a white keyboard of a different white, it look ugly IMO
Ducky Rabbit edition for Epic Failure : Here

I am typing this on a Ducky Rabbit and there is no appreciable difference in the color of the chassis and keys.  The difference is completely unnoticeable unless you take pictures of it with strange saturation.  To the eye, in normal light, it is 1 pure white color.  The keys being PBT are slightly shinier than the chassis, but only if you look at it in the right light.  It doesn't really matter to OP, because they are so hard to find anyway it isn't really worth looking.

Hmm my max budget is around 200$, I wonder if I should go with the Leopold because of the mini-usb, pretty good white color, great build quality, or go with the Noppoo Choc Mini White which is cheaper by 30 dollars AND comes with PBT keycaps but they aren't blanks unfortunately.

I think now it's just between the Leopold and the Nippoo, they both have their strong points. For me personally, it would be easier to adjust to the Leopold since I'm coming from a Filco, though the Nippoo is great value considering your getting PBT caps, BUT I want blank keys so I won't be entirely happy with the Nippoo and also I like the fact that the Leopold has a detachable cable which the Nippoo does not. The Leopold costs 30 dollars more and I'll be getting ABS instead of PBT keycaps, kind of a turn-off. Then again it has the detachable cable and the keys are blanks.

Anyone have pictures of the KBC Poker? I love the form-factor of that keyboard I just WISH it came in white, I would probably buy one and get it powdercoated lol. And do the ABS white key caps wear badly like start turning yellowish???

Haven't gone with PLU because of the 2KRO, I play a lot of Quake so this won't do.

Decided I'll be going with the KBC Poker. I can get it for 75$ dollars before shipping so that leaves me with a fair bit of cash to get this thing powdercoated white and getting my hands on some PBT keycaps. One issue I do see though is the look of the keyboard top down. It seems like you can see the PCB really easy. Would be great if anyone with the Poker keyboards can share their experiences on this.

well, it's not heavy like a filco since it's not a plate mounted board.

case is a piece of plastic, and mini usb connector seems to be a little flimsy (i know a member here broke theirs because she left the cable on and threw it in her backpack/purse i forget). but i haven't had any problems with it. i also don't carry it around, it stays on my desk 100% of the time.

i do really like this board tho, it's the one i use the most out of all my keyboards.

I can personally attest that the CMstorm quickfire rapid's PCB is green.

The plate is red though, at least for the cherry mx red switch'd version.

You could maybe paint the poker's PCB though.

Selling a filco on here should be pretty easy :p
