Color combo is so appealing, with a macro column as a bonus! Definitely interested. Just a small suggestion- location of name name is awkward imo, might look better aligned against the plate edge. Or move it to the bottom:I think aligned win the plate edge would look good. Not sure how I feel about the bottom.
Also, please make the pcb QMK compatible.
I’d be interested if there was an option without name tag also

Is there a render wth keycaps? And is this layout possible to have the arrow cluster?Based on the plate layout, I would hazard to guess that arrow cluster is possible. Then again I guess OP is the only one who can confirm this.
Is there a render wth keycaps? And is this layout possible to have the arrow cluster?I’m going to say it’s a hard yes on the arrow cluster, seems to be a 65% layout with function row on the left
Personally, id prefer two columns on the left side, but I'm still 100% down to get something like this.So am i ,we need start get some new things~:)

About color
It will limited to 5
Navy blue I will make this for a prototype
Also think grey instead of rose gold .is there much people like rose gold ?
So color would be :Mao - light green -navy blue -grey -gold (like yellow ) still have one to decidedA dark purple would be cool
We may can choose brass instead of gold ,
That we can have purple or silver -
So color would be :Mao - light green -navy blue -grey -gold (like yellow ) still have one to decidedDo you mean actual brass, or brass colored? Because i will 100% buy one made of brass.

Board looks stunning, the renders you showed convinced me and the price point is really nice. I'm in!
3 main questions:
- MAO. Can we have it WHITE or eventually a dark purple? (both are very popular colors when offered). I'm searching for a nice keeb with MAO White for a while now.
- Brass weight engraving. I'm not really into that the elephant, reminds me of the Gradle elephant. Would it be possible to have it BLANK or custom engraved (for more money?).
- Not really much important but nice: Type-C?

EDIT ABOUT COLORS:
Honestly Gold/Yellow or rose gold (since someone mentioned it) is not good if these colors excludes other popular colors. Even if someone requests it, these colors never ends up to be a popular choice in a GB. Light green is unique (we don't see this color usually) so it might actually work even tho is not a top choice (popular choices are silver/black/dark grey).
I'm not sure what colors you can do, but I suggest to go for MAO Purple/Dark Purple (not magenta pls!). Every set around or incoming is purple, too hot right now to skip it.
MAO white is another one you might consider since you are not offering the silver version and many sets have white/light alphas and mao white is rare, so it's another color that might end up to be popular.
Light green prototype for sure, it would go with your current styling and renders so much nicer, keep in with the citrus themeThank for suggestion

Colorwise I think I'd like to see:
White
Lime Green
Navy Blue
Gray (dark grey)
Two brighter/vibrant colors and two more neutral/darker colors.
Yea but I still think sliver is a good option ?Colorwise I think I'd like to see:

Yes, add to these 4 colors a nice dark purple like the Fjell or m65 and you have the perfect colors to go for.

Mao and silver need delete one ?
This might come off weird, but silver is a very standard color. What really impressed me with your design and color choices is that it all stands out, and I feel that having silver as one of the options takes away from that big draw. With that in mind my personal suggestion for colors would be:
Navy Blue
MAO White
Lime Green
Pastel Blue
I know there are two blues in there, but the logic being one more standard fare color with hue to it, and 3 kinda more playful "fun" pastel colors. Though I do get the feeling a lot of people will not necessarily agree with that color list.

Personally I'd prefer if it's removed.
I know my opinion contradicts the opinions of some others on here but I do like the logo as it is and don't mind it on the bottom weight. I just don't like name tags (or any branding in general) on top of boards, I prefer to keep it clean.

i think you missed the point
MAO is not the stark white that you're thinking, it's a more greyish color in person
I think the point is that MAO (the technique) will not produce a pure white color as seen in OPs MAO (what he incorrectly refers to as a color) render. It is the closest you can get to white, but it still does have a grey tint to it, and depending on the quality of the factory/their MAO process, this can range to barely noticeable grey to a more pronounced gray. Unless the OP and his factory have found or improved on the MAO process, I think it's very misleading to show a pure white case in his render.I think Mao is little grey not like silver

Not sure why you went with mao. Everyone knows what light gray looks like, and if there is any variation in what expected in comparison to what us produced then it's typically only a matter of contrast (ie. Darker or lighter than expected).
Other colors like purple or blue can vary significantly more than mao. Look at the kbdfans dark blue 5 degree case for example, it looks purple....
No offense, but I think you went with the easiest option, something you know that can't really be screwed up by the factory. Mao can't be screwed up, because there is no standard expectation for mao. The only way mao could be screwed up is if it came out black or another pigmented color. I feel like not getting it anodized then promising 95% similarity (what does this even mean? 95% on what scale of measure?) is a shady way to get everyone on board only for them to be disappointed me they receive their boards.
Good luck with everything, I was excited for this, but I'm definitely sitting it out now.

The fact that there are many purple boards available is so irrelevant to the discussion. I want to know how THIS board will look like in purple, because as you can see from every board in the community, the colors look completely different comparatively.

I disagree with you. Whether he went with Mao because some people (me included) asked for it or because he wanted it, is no reason to call it the easy choice.
I do agree on the fact that, in a perfect world, every color should be shown before the GB, and he will do that on Alu sampler as he said it. I actually wanted to see Mao because the render in the OP showed a white board, like, way too white to be Mao, but I had a hard time picturing the board in Mao. I would have been fine with any board color for the prototype, of course, as I'm more hyped by the layout than the colors themselves, but my first choice when ordering would be Mao and my lack of imagination is really grateful he picked that one.
Hopefully you'll change your mind and still join when this launches :-)

I agree, maybe my use of "easy" was a bit rash and too forward. You're absolutely right in saying others wanted to see mao instead, so there definitely was interest in seeing it.
I also agree that it's definitely not feasible to have every color shown on a prototype board before the GB; its just not financially feasible. You're right, the render did show a white board, and I also think that's misleading because as you yourself indicated, it was way too white to be mao. From that I think I can extrapolate that it is relatively common knowledge within the community that mao cannot produce a perfect white. In fact, I think the only way to get a perfect white is powdercoat or cerakote.
When I said "easy" I meant more along the lines of that there are less degrees of freedom in which mao can be "screwed up" compared to anodization, with the critical consideration being towards color hue. We all have come to expect from past GBs that mao white is typically gray. On some customs it is a lighter or darker gray than others. Anodization, however, can not only vary by tint/shade (lighter/darker), but the hue can vary as well. The kbdfans dark blue case which was actually a purple hue was the example I used. Having anodization chips helps mitigate my worries that I'm not gonna get a completely different hue, but it doesn't speak towards anod quality, which I briefly touch upon in a reply above.
Either way, this is just my perspective, i appreciate everyone else's, and am open to discussion. I will also say that I have been burned one too many times in the past in IRL on arbitrary promises such as 95% accurate (which again is completely subjective). I will continue to follow this IC and see what comes out of everything because I too like the layout, but I figured as someone who is trying to become an active member of the community that I should voice my concern.

I will show the color sample when gb oepn
And promise case color same as sample 95%

Hi sry it may not have brass versionI will show the color sample when gb oepn

Here is my word
Hi jacky, are you still planning to offer the brass option in addition to the colors?
I cant show all the color on one prototype ,I thinks no one can say they can make the color same as sample
100%
Be honestly ,my personal color is grey coz it match my keycaps
But I do want heart other voice from you guys .
I agree, purple can go a hell of different ways, mao is mao.
I guess I’ll just wait out until the GB opens to see if it’s dark enough to match phantom, if not, I’ll just wait out for another board with a dark purple.
I agree. Purple is purple
I agree. Purple is purple
how the hell is purple purple
I agree. Purple is purple
how the hell is purple purple
idk why the hell i wrote "purple is purple" but i wanted to say "purple is the way to go", simply because is the color that always comes out different from different anodization manifacturer, while MAO will be a sort of light light gray close so white.
haha got it, and I agree completely :>
So much talk of purple.
I feel like I'm the only one interested in blue.Show Image(https://sd.keepcalm-o-matic.co.uk/i/keep-calm-and-be-blue-da-ba-dee-da-ba-die.png)

I don't expect most to want MAO, especially since the process is more expensive than normal anodes. Gray would be nice to be kept but he might be seeing MAO as a neutral ? no idea.

From the looks of the plate no.My 0.02: Material and thickness of plate and anchoring to the case make infinitely more difference to switch feel than switch cutouts. Once the switch is soldered in, it is not moving location. If you're switch has wobble, then it wobbles. Plate does not fix nor change switch wobble.
Thank god though. Personally, I do not like plates with switch top opening support.
"Swiss cheese plates" lol. They feel less reinforcing for the switch and the switch likes to wobble out of space sometimes because of the extra space.
I did not mean switch wobble. I mean the switch moving around as a whole. So you get a lot of crooked switches if you are not careful. Andwould like to see no switch top opening as well

Nah, I do understand what switch top opening means. I have moded switches before. Switch top opening allows one to open the switch while it is soldered.I did not mean switch wobble. I mean the switch moving around as a whole. So you get a lot of crooked switches if you are not careful. And

You probably didn't understood "switch top open", which is just the small dots allowing the switch to be opened from the top, it isn't the reason of croocked switches or wobble switches.
Wobble or crocked switches may depend from other reasons:
- Holes for switches too big.
- Multiple layers. More layer are supported, more the plate is a ****ty cheese plate.
- Plate mounted instead of pcb mounted (which is ok because many switches doesn't have the pcb mount version)

Since there is more space between the switch and plate to allow switch top opening the more chance of the switch to move to one side. Thus, causing a crooked switch.
This means you have to be extra careful versus a a plate with no switch top opening. So it is an extra hassle for me at least. I just find building with plates with no support for switch top removal easier.
I also used "wobble" in the wrong way. Thus, the misinterpretations. :)

I did not mean to spark such a debate haha; it's just that I have no (de)soldering equipment but I want to lube the switches I will put in there and that would have saved me the hassle of sending it back to my budy, who does that soldering part, for him to lube the switches.
If this is not supported, no problem, I will live without :D
Now that the switch plate matter has settled, lets get back to the ... *ahem* elephant in the room... the top housing design.
Are we still debating between the original versus the 2nd design? Because I just gotta reiterate that I believe the curves and look of the original design is what made this keyboard concept truly unique and set it apart from everything else currently being worked on. Almost a difference of Retro vs Contemporary, in my eyes. (And I'll probably side with Retro every time.)
Though, I understand that the 2nd concept could be more popular and can be at peace with that if it's indeed the final outcome - but it really is a difference between sale or no sale for me personally. I still think the 2nd design is a fine looking keyboard, but just not unique enough that I'd currently want to add it to my collection. That first design though, that elephant would get top billing at the keyboard circus! ;)

For the record, I am totally 100% cool with that little blocker.
If the big blocker on the left side of the keys represents the elephant's trunk, the little arrow key blocker represents it's tail! ;)

Too many small keyboards already. I need me a big boy!
I hate to be a naysayer here, because I truly appreciate the work you've put into this - and I also see you've been working hard on refining with these latest changes!
But I can't help but offer my opinion here and point something out, because the original pictures you initially posted in this thread are disappearing at an alarming rate. I don't know if it's the recent imgur problems or if you're removing them yourself, but the original design had noticeably larger bezels than your current version.
And this wasn't just limited to the renders, but the actual prototype you had made featured this original bezel thickness:
I don't know if you're trying to downplay this original bezel thickness due to cost or manufacturing issues.... but, I implore you, don't throw out that original width. Truly, it is what caught my interest in this project of yours and I really feel it's what makes it stand out and makes it special. I would personally gladly pay more for that original width, where as I would likely pass over the project entirely without it. That big chunky width and what I can only imagine is significant "heft" is what gives it that awesome retro terminal keyboard vibe. A standout design that would be a showpiece in any keyboard collection. But for every millimeter you shave off, I feel the board slips ever closer towards the mundane. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not trying to be mean when I say that - I'm merely trying to convey the importance of what I personally believe to be one of your design's greatest attributes.
But maybe others don't feel as strongly about it as I do.
But yes, for Odin's sake if anything, keep that mini blocker in. ;)

Maybe it was late in the night for me but I didn't notice the revised design appeared slightly shaved off on the sides. Looking back at the prototype I can now spot that it does actually appear a bit more wider and I'm in agreement; I think the original design without name badge and blocker with it's proportions, as it materialised in the prototype, were already perfect as they were.
