Interest Checks / Re: [IC] budget96 PCB and Case - mmm, QMK?
« Last post by azachhh on Wed, 25 April 2018, 20:57:19 »
I think it depends on how much more the single middle piece would be compared to the three stacked pieces. If it's not that much more, I would 100% be willing to pay that extra for the single piece of acrylic.

Yeah, can we get the actual estimated price? If itís really only a $5 difference - I would totally rather have the single piece.

I am sure most of you got the email this morning, but just in case I am posting it here for reference:

This is such a cluster. So people who haven't had a change of address and therefore didn't email their address will receive their boards later? O_o

It sounds like everyone should respond to this email with their shipping address ASAP, even if it hasn't changed.

This is also so insecure since it seems like the GB runner doesn't have access to the paypal invoices. So anyone could just email a response to this, claim to be me and substitute their shipping address for mine. To avoid this I think everyone should email their shipping address quickly--then at least in the event of any attempted fraud the GB runner will at least see that there are two addresses associated with the same username so something must be wrong.

Tam mentioned to send in your address regardless of whether you changed address or not.

Youíre right however that now this method is very insecure, since his brother doesnít have the Paypal info to verify the info people are sending in.

Hopefully Lynn can crosscheck? I dunno.

Fact of the matter is..

People simply don't use the feature..

It's a novelty idea at best, when I remove keycaps the switches come out with them...

I think you're doing something wrong.
From what I know, there are 2 things required to properly experience the hot swap stuff:
- plate with 1.5mm thickness, that way the switches can clip properly on the plate and thus, more stable
- decent keycaps, I mean keycap with good stem, not too tight

Works great with plate mounted switches. I wouldn't do that on PCB mounted ones,  in facts I wouldn't like PCB mounted anyway.

agree! PCB mount switches are too hard too install/remove on hot swap board.

Off Topic / Re: X220 too slow to use 3DLut

What's the resolution of your 3D lut and intended purpose? What is desired color space? Is you X220 capable of displaying that colorspace?

I've never seen anything larger than 33x33x33 used in professional video workflows. Those tend to be pretty light and easy to use. The large it goes, the greater the amount of processing.

How did you end up using flat head screws? I hate those more than any  :(

That's just for the prototype, production will have Phillips head for all internal :)
I just personally enjoy the look of slotted screws haha

When is pre order end if i still want to change the color? I chose Moon because it's the safest color to pair with any keycaps but it is boring imo. Dusk and Lake are just too god irl.

You have until the 30th to adjust the colors :) You can email support@rama.works (or better just reply to your order confirmation email) and I can adjust it :)

I didn't see any samples if the Mist color? Is it supposed to be the same as the macro pad on the left? That is to say, will it be shiny instead of matte like the other cases?

Mist/Kuro will be the same finish/shinyness as the other anodized sample blocks just in those colours :)
