Has anybody tried stuffing foam between the switches?
« on: Mon, 30 June 2014, 22:10:16 »
I know that somebody used expanding foam on their filco (which turned out really messy) but has anybody tried to put foam between the switches? Maybe foam backer rods in small diameters just piled between the switches before soldering?

Maybe in combination with shelf liner behind the PCB, sound can be reduced a lot

I've thought about it. I am planning on getting a foam or rubber sheet and punching square holes in it for the switches and placing it between the pate and the PCB. I'm waiting for the universal plate GB before I do anything though.

Edit: for my Filco. If it works OK I'll probably do the same for my GH60s.

That's a good idea, but quite a lot of layering.

Not if I can get a thick enough sheet. I've got a shop nearby that specialises in rubber and foam so I'll have to have a look at what they've got.
