Hiiii guys.

So I'm increase the number of spots in this gb. We're currently at 56. Andddddd Ill be putting up 12 spots of SINGA R2 with the polished inner weight. They'll be priced slightly higher as the weights are both machined and hand polished which is time consuming but a lot of people are asking me to do this so here we go.

Colours will be 2 of each of the 6 colours. Meaning 2x Blacks, 2x Velvets, 2x Jets, 2x Oranges, 2x Navys and 2x Champagne.

Always FCFS. Unless you'd like a raffle? Please let me know your thoughts.

What about for those who already purchased a singa?  Can we switch to the polished inner weight by paying the difference?   ;D

Same question from me.

I'd probably also be in for a polished inner weight.  :)

I thought all come with the polished inner weight like the proto. Lol
Nevertheless if you only offer the polished to the addition order i think thats not a wise decision.
Because what the point of FCFS if the late order got the privilege to get the polished one. I think it should be open to everyone who join.
Just my two cents

In my opinion, it should be available only to the original 50, not newer entrants. The original supporters should feel rewarded rather than forced to get this benefit. I think a raffle for these six spots weights is in order.

I would love to get the polished weight even if it means paying more or waiting slightly longer. Why not just offer it to everyone?

I second that the polished weight options should only be made available to the original 55 buyers.

With that said, it should be an add-on option to the existing buyers of R2. Instead of having to place another Singa order. This would be rewarding to the 55 who did join in the GB.

I agree with the previous responses that it should be a raffle for those interested in the original group buy and regular version for those extra slots that you want to create. I am interested in the polished weight.

I'd love one with the weight polished. Either in my current order or a new one. An option to add it to existing would be great, or just randomly pick interested people Raffle style..

I'd also very much like a polished weight, raffle or some organized FCFS where people know a time/date to fill out a form would work for me.  Preference being raffle.

Hi guys, please do note that it was just a thought. Because the weights in the prototype were done by mistake. It takes up alot of time and labour cost as the weights are dual polished, with one of them being by hand.

To make it simple, I think itíd be best scrap the idea.

All SINGA R2 weights will be sandblasted as with the original plan.

Gonna be honest... since all of the photos show the weights as polished, I always assumed that's how they were going to be delivered. A bit disappointed.

This is getting complicated, so best to just move on from it.

Polishing not only is time-consuming, but the OP did say that the weights would be sandblasted. I saw that the polished weights were in the prototype album, but made sure to ask catweewee about it. Let's just carry on and move ahead with sandblasted.

See below for part in OP that mentions it would be sandblasted:

  • Sandblasted SS Lion Weight and SS inner weight, Brass plates and Alu plates in the new colours

The prototypes were supposed to be sandblasted but my factory polished them by mistake.

It took a lot of time and money to get just these 2 done, handpolished and all.

Sorry about this

Understand it's more expensive, and I'll love it either way... but honestly, it was shown advertised one way and not clearly noted that this was not what was being purchased. It's misleading, plain and simple. That's the last I'll say. Still looking forward to my board. Thanks for the update.

Sorry :/

It was stated in the IC that weights were sandblasted but I think how it couldve been missed easily.

Id be happy to offer a refund on anyone who isnt keen on the weight issue. My apologies again.

Unfortunately no it isnt. Spoke to my factory that it was a mistake on their part, took too much time and cost to finish up even these 2 proto weights cause there were machined polished first then hand polished.

You said the polished weights were hand-polished.  Given that would it be possible for individual buyers to polish their own weights once they get them?  Do you have any suggestions with regards to what to use, techniques, etc?

Polishing stainless steel is very straight forward. First you degrease the metal, then you start with rougher grit like 600 and work your way to like 1500-3000. Maybe even higher.  Eventually you switch to a polishing compound like diamond paste to get that perfect mirror.

That said Iím not sure Iíd do it on the weight after itís already finished as to do it you remove material and thus you would make parts not flush (many factories will finish parts assembled to get cleaner seams).

That's right. The weight finishes that I have chosen are sandblasted and coated to prevent corrosiveness. It would defeat the purpose of this matte look.

Also, the 2 weights that were mistakenly polish went through an extensive and hard procedure. It would be difficult to replicate without the right tools
