Hey everyone! I've been around mechanical keyboards for a while now, but my friend suggested I go deeper by joining geekhack (shout out to chiefclukey). My first keyboard was actually one that I borrowed from him - some kind of ducky with an aluminum case and plate and backlit keys. But I got hooked so I built my own with a tenkeyless from winkeyless, soldering diodes and all. Unfortunately I messed up one of the solderings on a letter key so I got a WASD keyboard with cherry blues to tide me over until I get my next one.
My ultimate plan is to build a keyboard by sourcing all the parts separately, but right now I'm looking to practice building boards by finding another kit (one with a solid case instead of an acrylic one that you have to screw together. Regardless, I'm looking forward to getting to know the scene and building my base of knowledge.
