As a non-cable subscriber, it's the only show I've ever bought a "season pass" for rather than waiting for the excruciating delay to view on prime/netflix, plus it helps their ratings and hopefully pushes the producers to keep it going! Seriously quality.

It nails that coldness of space feel, and yet the characters tie it together.

I really think the show can go the distance as, dare I say startrek ??

Because trek discovery, super lame..

Even Orville is better.

orville was entertaining, i liked it. and seth mcfarlins voice is so comforting after all the years of family guy...

The expanse i could never pay attention too when i watched through them, ill have to go back for a rewatch if its a tp4 top show

FBB == Female Body Builder? I mean, not to get too memey here, but... "She Thicc, She Protecc, She give no hecc". She definitely intimidated that pilot/crew lackey to get off of the Guanshiyin!

As a side note, I really like the belter creole slang. Reminds me of the language the grounders use in "The 100" which is not a great show by any means, but good to pass time.

I watched the 1st season of 100.. Too much teen-drama for me to continue..

But I think it's a great show for young people..

Frankie Adams,,, I think the issue comes down to proportions.. There's nothing wrong with being Thicc, but if that doesn't come with some more shoulder muscles, the belly width just makes her look out of shape/pudgy.

Intimidation is improved from having an overall V-shape.

If you are relying on subscription streaming services, you will always be waiting for the season to wrap before you can consume it. Speaking from my location in US, Amazon Prime was quicker to release to subscription streaming than Netflix, but ultimately was still almost a full year+ after the season ended.

I was actually convinced by a very well worded and explained post in /r/theexpanse that urged fans to contribute to active viewing numbers so that the producers/studio would be convinced to keep running the show and not cancelling due to low viewership numbers. This is the first show I have ever paid for a season pass (I went through Google Play, but similar options exist for Prime, iTunes, etc.) so that I could hopefully contribute to the momentum and success of a show that I love.

There are numerous examples of shows that have huge fan bases and desire for more seasons/episodes, but they withered on the vine because Nielsen ratings and current season numbers were not great, even though viewer numbers on streaming platforms expressed enormous interest. Producers/studios can't or won't wait for series to get to streaming and then judge if they will back or sign another season, due to basic business/investment reasons. Imagine if something like Firefly could have been kept alive instead of just existing as a cult favorite after the fact!

If it's not an option for you financially, that's totally fine, but I just wanted to point out that 2-3 months of streaming subscription on yet another service (**** Hulu btw, even though I want to get down with some more Handmaid's Tale) will easily fund a season pass for a fantastic series that is currently unparalleled in its category.

Oh don't get me wrong I am happy to pay to watch the season, I just don't want to pay for anymore streaming services month to month. Firefly's cancelling was a crime against humanity and I hope Expanse does not end up in the same position. I have Amazon Prime so I might have a look at that avenue.

I actually started watching Handmaid's Tale the other day, it took me a while to find a free service. But SBS on demand has it, you just have to sign up no credit card details required as they just run adds during the show. I don't know if it will work in USA or anyone else though. I also don't know what seasons they are up to etc.

I really don't know how long they can stretch the politics of war motif..

Because , while it serves the narrative for space-battle.. It doesn't make sense as to what either party has to profit from the war.

Given their tech,, What Don't they already have in terms of satisfying every possible (Human) desire..

Which is why turning it into m0ar Firefly is a good idea.. because Cowboy frontier trajectory, actually allows for the human-pettiness of story lines to unfold..

That's certainly true for the effects, but I think discovery is proof that too much money has significant negative effects to the creative process.

That was the laziest writing ever.. Yea, cool cgi, great costumes, lasers.. but missing the core..
