Hmmm
will you consider 112344+1 on this plz make it 112344
Also, please, please add colevrak, or at least dvorak, kit. Alternatively an alpha kit with the logic symbols only, not even the '.', ',' and '/' keys, to add complete freedom to those who like interesting layouts.
will you consider 112344
Oh noooooo. My interest in this set is specifically for use on a small ortho, because that's where the numpad is actually functionally most useful.
Could the modern numpad on the alpha rows be incorporated into the ortholinear set? Without it this set goes from extremely must buy to ehhhhhhhmaybe.

As a small ortho user, you would prefer the numpad to be in the standard, modern orientation, correct? I guess the good news with that approach is that no more than six new keys would need to be added to the ortho & 40s kit, as the 456 row would be able to be reused from the base alphas. I think Fredington already had a mockup for this.If he decides to go that route, my suggestion would be to keep the extra keys in the modern numpad kit, and only put the bottom row 0 keys in the ortho kit (which is where they currently are). The reason for this is that there might be some non-40% users out there who like to have their modern-orientation numpad start on UIO instead of 789, so they would be able to make use of these keys as well.
Edit: Actually, doing it like this poses a different problem. So I'm not sure what the best approach would be here. So far, including it in the ortho & 40s kit like you suggested sounds viable, if a couple of unnecessary keys are cut.
Thanks for splitting the alphas!
Would it be possible to add a 1.75u shift to the 40's kit as well?
Are you a Dimple user? There's already one 1.75u Shift in the TKL kit.
Alright, I've added 4x12 ortho and staggered 40s support for the Modern kit, while removing 3 keys from Ortho/40s. See changelog for full details:
- Moved the MC key from TKL to Alphas to provide more flexibility with R1 layouts across all form factors and child kits, allowing for the removal of PROG from Ortho/40s kit
- Removed 1.25u and 1.5u bottom row 0/ keys from Ortho/40s kit (these have an equivalent in the updated Modern kit)
- Updated the Modern kit to support 4x12 ortho and staggered 40s
Hi, I don't intend this to be disrespectful to either you nor jae, but how hard is it to grasp that prototypist is not an EU vendor? I see this on like every other group buy, and its so frustrating. The reason we have regional vendors is to avoid expensive shipping and individual customers avoiding to have to deal with customs. BOTH of which are not achieved with prototypist as a vendor. I could just as well order it from Australia, or the US with a slight increase in shipping costs. Stop using any UK based company as an EU vendor. Its not an EU vendor. Its a vendor with closest geographic proximity and nothing else. Please speak to one of the multitude other vendors in the EU: mykeyboard, Keygem, and oblotzky (who runs a ton of keycap gbs on his website) just to name a few.
I agree with raptor, having to pay another 30+ euros because of customs and tax declaration is stupid. I’ll reconsider buying if this will be the case.
Ok guys so the distinction between "EU" and "Europe" went right past me once I was oblivious to the situation, and I'm sorry for that.
Here is Jae's response to the matter:
In this instance EU was meant to represent Europe the continent rather than European Union - a small but very important distinction.
Any sale made in 2020 but shipped in 2021 will have VAT collected at the time of sale (and paid to the respective governments as per VAT rules/procedures that currently exist), and will have the VAT invoice in the box clearly showing the sale date, and be also marked as VAT Paid at the time of shipping on the shipping slip.
As such, even if no trade deal is agreed (which is still to be determined) VAT should not be charged again. On the off chance it is, you will be able to reclaim that with the original purchase order as proof following the rules and process in your country.
Of course for non-European Union countries (whether in Europe the continent or worldwide), sales will still be the same as they are on the store today - with no VAT included.
Sales in 2021 depend on what trade deal (or not) is agreed, and could range from VAT being collected as it always has been, or EU customers no longer paying VAT on UK stores, and potentially paying it on import. There is a wide range of outcomes here that its hard to speculate on.
The same also applies in reverse to UK customers where sales are with EU vendors, which is worth keeping in mind.
Problem is that this GB date is March 2021.

Problem is that this GB date is March 2021.That's a fair point - what the situation will look like by March is unknown. But to be clear, there is no situation where you both pay VAT at checkout and pay customs. It will be either or.
This no extra tax thing if purchased in 2020 is quite nice though. I hope it works the other way around too!
Also, regarding a separate EU vendor, the intention was to revisit the issue in the new year when the transition period is over and the laws will [hopefully] be more clear. Rest assured, that I will make the decision that will best benefit buyers. Since the situation is currently unclear however, it would be premature and unfair to Proto[Typist] to bring another vendor on board.
Some small updates today:Great, after eskimojo cited Jae I feel better about the situation. But it still wouldn’t be a surprise if customs screwed me over.
- Added SwitchKeys as Oceania vendor
- Removed 1u META from Specialties, as including it would [unnecessarily] give you three of these keys in combination with TKL
- Added R3 UP to TKL, giving the option for the arrow cluster to be all the same profile

Bringing back the SA SAIL deskmat in a new color to match the modifiers:Nice. I missed out on Sail but I always liked the deskmat so I'm glad to see it make a comeback.Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/XgNA8p8.jpg)
pouring one out for the good numpad kit :(
:(
The Modern numpad kit should have been the real numpad kit.
I was planning on picking up couple extras just to stick them on other SA sets. Sad.
What?! Modern Numpad kit is the only reason why I was also buying the other kits. Was planning on buying several to fit in with other SA sets. Now there’s no reason for me to join the GB. Huge disappointment.

Well, it would have been a $45 kit and we felt that was a bit too much for a kit whose interest level was on par with the ISO kit at $19.

What is the specific color chart?
