And I just realized that thesiscamper accidentally put the wrong color Esc and Enter based on the OP pic.  I kind of feel bad asking him to swap them to what the OP kit shows when he already kindly swapped the background.

They're both going to be included so that people can choose their preference.  I think either looks good, it's just not the original plan for the set to have that order.  I feel a little bad asking you to swap them, but if it's not a lot of work, it would be appreciated.  I got caught up in how awesome of a job you did that I didn't notice.

Check out the Keyboard Layout Editor mockup in the OP.  That should cover the G80-1800 layout.  There's a 6u and 7u spacebar, 1u 0/Ins, 1u +, 1u -, 1.75u Shift, and then 1.5u Ctrl and Alt or 1u Ctrl, Alt, Win, Menu.


I still need confirmation that I have ISO covered (I went for basic UK ISO) and that the kit covers a bunch of other layouts like winkeyless, HHKB (aside from the spacebar), Pure, and so on.

Another question, should I keep the 1.5u Delete for HHKB, or do I add a pad printed backward delete symbol on the two \| keys?

Probably not unless I did a separate kit.  I'm trying to make a mostly universal set (except the damn ergodox that takes a million odd caps) that's affordable.  I'm not really looking to add any caps unless they're essential.

Keep in mind that each larger key added is about $1-2.50.  To make blanks for an Ergodox, you'd be looking at an additional $15-20 on the base price most likely.  As you add more, that cost barrier becomes harder to overcome.

HHKB has a 6u space bar.  It's planned for the kit, but for G80-1800 compatibility since the spacebar is off-centered.  I don't know if any keyboards that support that layout will also support the off-centered space.  The Viper looks like it uses a 7u space bar (that's also included), but, again, I'm not sure what keyboards that support that layout use on the bottom row since I haven't kept up on that.

I'm lucky in that I've got the only keyboard Cherry MX compatible keyboard in the house.  That and the kids are pretty much used to laptops and just using the built-in keyboard.

Yup, I'm thinking there's going to either be some parents buying double or parents wishing they'd bought double from this set.
