What's changed since IC begin?

1. Removed badge on the HHKB case due to popular demand
2. Substitute Black finish with Beige (all you beige gang is just too strong)
3. Altered Beige color after receiving prototype, the production unit will be a close match to PANTONE 11-0105 TCX rather than the yellow hue with a greenish tint (Comparison album link click here)
4. RETAINED all plate mounting points (Poron pads from the gasket conversion kit will need to stick onto the protruding plate points)
Without the spacebar and sides' mounting points, the plate's bottom and sides sections do not have enough support during typing which resulting in a very soft or sinking feeling near the spacebar, enter, backspace, L&R shift.
  • IF you want to build it with top mont and want a softer typing feel - skip screws near the space bar and left and right side when installing your plate
  • IF you want to use the gasket conversion kit, I strongly recommend using all 8 mounting points and install Poron pads on all of them.

Here is a video demo using all 8 points on an aluminum plate

Here is a sound test video with the gasket conversion kit - Box cream with PBT GOK BoW, no plate or case foam installed

22nd July Update
Batch 2 shipped, there were 2 orders stuck in the warehouse with post code and address mismatch issues. This should be resolved in the next 2 days
More
6th July Update
Have been advised batch 2 will be shipping out next week, this batch will include the remaining unfulfilled orders (a few P-Beige in HHKB layout), replacement parts for transit damaged units, plates and redesigned daughterboards to be compatible with Drop's run (I'll be in touch with people who filled in the form during GB once they are in hand)

5th May Update
The first batch of replacement plates was shipped today.  The shipping time frame was significantly delayed due to multiple COVID related lockdowns ongoing in CN. (Replacements finished production in early March)

11th Feb Update
Confirmed all PC and Aluminium plates have been affected by switch misalignment, all of those plates will be remanufactured and sent to GB buyer free of charge. This issue did not arise during prototype testing

13 Janeuary Update
All production is complete, packing is finished. All GB orders buyers can expect an email update with tracking information.

18 December Update

All manufacturing is finished, QC complete. All parts have arrived at FanC's warehouse for packing
Address changes only orders have been executed, order updates for extra parts are to be confirmed and reinvoiced.
Extra daughterboard compatible for Drop's run have been completed

Shipping will be commencing soon, may happen right after Christmas

14 November
All parts finished CNC, waiting on case surface treatment to complete. PCB, Plates, Packagings are all complete and ready for packing
Address change and order update are now available, PLEASE jump in DISCORD to access the form or reply to your order confirmation email when you placed your order.

25 September
Good news and bad news update
Bad News
As of this Thursday, the regional government where M0110 has been produced implemented further restrictions on industrial power usage to combat peak electricity shortages in the area. I've been told its is 2 days on, 5 days off

Good News

1. To combat the above restriction and avoid delays we will switch production to night mode (sleep by day, work overnight), fulfilment in Q4 this year remains unchanged
2. CNC portions for case, weight and plates are nearly complete, will head into surface treatment soon in the coming weeks
2. PCBs are all finished despite MCU shortages
3. Hello m0110 will have new packaging, will post some pics when the prototype arrives

My own todo list for now:
1. Producing a new separate daughterboard that will be compatible with Drop's run, ONLY for those who filled in the Drop After-Sale form(completed)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10 September - 60% Machining are complete, surface finishing will follow at the end of the machining (beginning of October), PCB due to be finished at the end of next week
11 July - order finalised, submitted to manufacture

It will require some modifications to the new daughter board to install into the Drop run case .

Are you able to provide an approximate weight of a built board?

PC fully build with alu plate without any case or PCB foam is about 1.3 KG, Aluminium case build with same plate material is around 2 KG

Yes and here it is. For the gasket kit, it will come with 2 thicknesses 0.5mm & 8mm. Thin ones will stick on top of the plate at the mounting point to prevent case ping when the plate rebounds during typing. Thick gasket foam will be on the bottom side of the plate and does most of the support work.

In the prototype shown below, I didn't use any thin ones and can not hear any ping while typing

Yes however you might have to desolder the USB C port if it is interfering with daughterboard

I don’t have a picture on hand so here is a Mont60 made by FanC, it is the same material for the M0110 PC version.

I love the design of this and it ticks all my usability boxes (corner blockers, HHKB split keys and split space bar) but I'm concerned when I look at all the feedback about poor QC and packaging from the previous run. How is it going to be addressed this time if at all?

This question was address’ed at the end of the IC post. You can read up the drama happened during Drop’s run.

The short version is that this run will be manufactured and QCd in house prior to packing and shipping.

That's reassuring to hear. I read over the IC thread and also found this:

Quote
So, I joined the Drop GB.  There were a few of problems that I ran into:

the plate didn't actually support split space bar layouts.

It looks like this is still going to be a problem from the images/videos shared so far. Are there any plans to correct this?

I'm aware of that and it was brought up in our discord discussions as well, plate has been fixed since then

Shipping to limited EU country atm, given shipping rates, can vary drastically depending on where you are and what is the COVID situation is locally. DM on discord if you would like a quote for your country

Already purchased a kit, but had a question. Are you planning on releasing the plate files once the board ships? I'd love to get a (ideally fixed layout) pom plate made.

Can you provide any shots of the beige units that are not a render? I've recently been interested in color matching that 90's beige box color that so many manufacturers were using and it looks like you're pretty damn close here. I'd be curious to see what it actually comes out like in person.

I missed this. Any extras avail

If you are willing to pay the you can get them here:

https://www.monstargears.com/1949505981/?idx=302
Only part of the set is available (they're out of the alphas, for example)

They were available when I posted, I ordered my full set from Monstargear. Sorry to get people excited.

There are prototype shots of the beige both in the IC thread, and the discord. Links for each are found in the OP. I think the beige color may have been updated since those, not sure, you'll have to read the around the thread a little to figure it out.

Well right, I had read that its been changed a bit so I was interested to see the final product. If its close to what it is being shown as in the updated renders then I'm interested. I didn't care for the beige initially offered. Had kind of a green cast to it that I didn't care for.

No worries at any rate. Just hoping to see more of the board.

Is 3 months still the ETA? This seems like an impossibly fast turnaround compared to every other group buy I've seen/participated it.

I think they did a run in China already. Those group buys usually do go a little faster because the factories are already practiced in producing the case. Though I think with IC shortages this does have a chance at being delayed.
