This is the beginning of the end!

Hipster's Kaps are too popular, they will be hard to get from now on. Congrats to the success Hipster and for making some awesome caps. ;)
Now I'm just happy I got in early enough to get a few before they were mainstream :p

Haha

"That's why I told you to post at 1 second left"
"Yea but like I didn't think it would go that quick"

Friends never understand auction timing :P

Edit: ah, looks like they used the wrong clock as the countdown timer.

I missed the sale because of work.  :'(  But the plus side is someone who did not have a KBK to cherish and enjoy will now have one. So that is good.

I'm glad Hipster is getting the attention he deserves, glad to be a proud supporter since day one.  Congrats to all who won a cap from the sale! They were beautiful. I hope I can make it to the next one. *crosses fingers*  :-X

Ha, yea I'm bummed. I've had no luck with the KBKs at all, I thought for sure this time.

Next time I'm going to bring my own laptop to work and tether it on my phone and post from that. I'm amazed this site even makes it past the firewall as is.

I have a bunch of stuff in my WTT thread below for KBK bait!

I only picked the 3 that I really like and go with my boards. Even though my submission was quite quick, I didn't get it. Bummer. But I just didn't want to get those I don't like and later had to trade and wrestle with all the shipping and handling. Next time, I guess.

Congrats Hipster! Great sale and they sure went away really fast!

The Villain Unseen.

So for me the scariest villain of all time was the Blair Witch. Now while not necessarily a villain in the traditional sense, it’s the bad things that I can’t see that truly freak me out.

I first went to see this movie when it came out and I was in high school. It was a random pick, something we went into just because we were old enough, and I had no idea what it was about going in. Now I am a jumpy person by nature, but during this movie was the most terrified I have ever been in a film. I kept actually hoping that you got to see the witch just so the kids could at least try to defend themselves. But no! All that happened was that everyone went mad. I mean what can you do with that apart from go mad and die screaming? So I came out of this movie white knuckled, rather pale, with not just a little sweat on my brow.

Now normally once a movie is over I can put it out of my mind if I want. However, the effects of the Blair Witch lasted long after the movie finished. About 2 months later I want on a school camp. As part of the program we had to do a 48hr solo camp in the middle of the bush. So with the Blair Witch fresh in my mind I go to spend 48hrs alone in the bush with nothing but random noises (mostly the hissing of possums) and my own paranoia. Yay! It also didn’t help that my lovely friends latched onto my fear and decided to exploit it for the 2 months leading up to this experience. However, the final straw was that the teacher that checked up on me after 24hrs also thought it would be hilarious to plant one of the stick figures from the movie close to my camp site. Needless to say after finding it I had a very sleepless night and still freak out a little with at the sounds of possums.

So my vote goes to the villain that makes you kill yourself and does it without you even seeing them.

P.S: I have never watched that movie again );

II. Emerald City Conspire MX - Winner

To me, the most horrifying movie villain is not out of graveyards or afterworld. It has to be Hannibal Lecter from The Silence of the Lamb. I saw that movie when I was in my teens and his raspy voice stuck in my mind ever since. That cool, composed, highly calculative look and stare that came out of the shadowy darkness of the prison sent me shivers. And he eats brains! The most terrifying things to me is that this maniac behavior could be anyone in the crowd. He's common looking but the potential for evil is so vast, I'm always on my toes if I see an immaculately dressed old man with intense eyes. He could be after my brains! Yikes.

III. Potent Purple Conspire MX - Winner

I think the movie villain that freaked me out the most was Pennywise, the clown from IT.  That clown scared the crap out of me so bad when I was a kid that I was scared of clowns AND sewers for years.. Clowns still creep me out!

*IV. Concentrated Orange Mummy II MX - Winner*
I found this email in my Junk Folder, after i had PM'd the winners. I loved the entry so much I had to add another prize

More

My most terrifying villain:  The Visitors from the "V" TV miniseries.

While not from a movie, the Visitors from the "V" TV miniseries gouged
a deep and permanent scar onto my innocent childhood.

When I was little, I really loved stories about space and cool aliens.
I could not get enough of Star Wars and also  other sci-fi movies like
Close Encounters and the Black Hole.  When this new "V" TV miniseries
was advertised, I was really excited and was eagerly counting the days
until it aired.  Gigantic UFOs arriving at Earth, floating over major
cities around the world.  And the show had a really great logo - a
large red V on a dark background.  I definitely could not miss this
show and had this marked down in my TV watching schedule.

The night of the premier for the first episode came around, and I was
all ready at home to watch it.  As promised, there were awe inspiring
scenes of huge flying saucer-like motherships arriving to Earth, and
they were glorious.  I loved, loved spaceships as a little kid.  The
Visitors disembarked to be greeted by humanity, and these guys were
way cool.  They looked just like humans, were friendly, and they were
wearing these really snazzy red and black uniforms.  And these guys
sported the best 80s shades ever.

Soon afterwards, things went quickly south for my childhood TV viewing
experience.  One of the show's characters, Michael Donovan, is a TV
journalist and decides to sneak onto one of the alien ships.  I was
fascinated since I really wanted to see what the interior of those
huge ships were.

Donovan stows away onto a ship and sneaks about in the air duct
system.  He peeks into one of the rooms, and spots Diana, one of the
attractive female Visitors.  I have to admit, it was kind of an
exciting voyeuristic scene for me as a very young boy.  But as I
watch, I notice that something's is not quite right with this scene.
There are rats and gerbils on a shelf in the room.  And Diana reaches
for one.  And suddenly her mouth gapes open inhumanly large, and she
swallows it whole!  This was totally unexpected for me, and I was
frightened.  Yet at that point I could not stop watching.  I was
terrified but still a little curious to see what happens.

Soon after that, there's another scene where Donovan gets caught by
one of the Visitor guards, and that reveals more of the Visitors'
terrible true looks.  The Visitor guard is no mere man, as Donovan
discovers while struggling with it.  Yellow lizard eyes and wild
forked tongue, and as they fight, guard's face peels off to reveal an
ugly reptile like face.

I screamed and stopped watching after that second scene.  Those two
scenes were enough to emotionally scar me.  I was expecting some cool
sci-fi TV show like Star Trek, and instead got horrific, carniverous,
rat-eating reptile aliens whose faces peeled off.  I could not sleep
for a long time after that, and those two scenes haunted me for many
years afterwards.  Due to the trauma this show caused for me, I never
could bring myself back to watch it, even later on when I was used to
horror movies.  It even pained me to look up this show today while
writing this up.  So many bad memories of being a scared little kid
thanks to this show.

Thanks, Visitors for ruining my childhood.

this was extremely difficult reading through all the entries and picking my favorites, Thank you all for entering i had a blast reading what terrifies you all :P

Not surprising I've never won anything.

Congratulations to the winners :D
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
