I'd prefer a WK version without the badge OR blocker, but since that's unlikely to happen my second choice is WKL like with no badge.

Hi,

I'm heavily leaning towards the WKL-like layout.  In previous rounds there was no option to get a badge with that layout.  Will you consider adding a badge to the WKL layout this round?

Also, there was a question in the previous GB about breaking out the unused pins on the Atmega32u4 for modding.  Is there any chance those pins will be exposed on the board?

Have any pins been broken out on the PCB for modding?
Wondering if all that space inside the  case could be put to good use?

Yes, but you need to mod directly from 32U4.

We will make some changes for the backlight issue, and yes, we can expose unused pinouts for you guys to play with. :thumb:

Same here. WKL with badge would be my 1st preference.  Hopefully it is possible his round.

Please keep one WKL version without the badge.

Yeah we perfer no badge for WKL version. It's weird and no suitable place to put it.

Will the PCB be fixed to use a proper PWM pin to drive the inswitch LEDs?  :)
Also, will it have USB C to C support this time?

Yes!  Love the badge logo, love the case design, love the layout, love the colors.  Some more unusual muted color options would be cool.  For instance RAMA's M-60a had some interesting ideas for the muted mauve color ("Dusk").

I barely convinced myself not to get this the first time, there is no way I can skip round two. That red looks gorgeous but I agree I hope there's some innovative color choices this time!

Haha glad to see you here mate. ;D
Yeah we got a way to solve the inswitch LEDs problem, but I forgot about C to C lol.
Appreciate for reminding me that. :thumb:

Just to be shure: The BT PCB will officially support QMK?
That would be the 'must get' argument for me.

The design is based on the IBM PC Jr revised keyboard, not the IBM 4704 Model 200.

The good news is that you can get the original board for about $15. The bad news it kinda sucks. It's a rubber dome that feels like typing on damp sponges, particularly on the spacebar.

Not that heavy. There's no additional weight and it's fairly hollow. I've found that adding a layer of sound dampening foam is sorta required to eliminate the pinging.

Considering to go for S-7 if the CA66 aint that heavy.
I wish there is an option to attach a brass weight or something.

The PC Jr is based on the F62 board, after cost cutting and adding arrow keys. Look at the distinctive ledge above the keys, it was so that you could place a pen or pencil there, since the keyboard was intended for the financial services.

And if you want the pcjr like kb, without the arrows and actual good switches, you end up at the F62, the grand daddy of this design.

If you scroll up a bit he confirmed that non Bluetooth would be an option. Colors are not set but considering the last run and the fact that black is a base color I assume it will be an option.

That's a cool theory and everything, but the original IC explicitly stated it was inspired by the PC Jr keyboard: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=91874.0

It's pretty apparent in the design, as well, given that the case style is nearly identical other than the layout.

Also, that shelf was present on every single Model F. That is not a feature exclusive to the kishsaver. Furthermore, it was primarily intended as a stand for quick reference cards for software, hence the vertical notch to the left side of the shelf on some of the earlier boards (notably the Datamaster, Bigfoot, and F122).

i am not debating what this keyboard was apparently inspired by. the pcjr had a lot of common elements from its predecessors which include model f's and m's. now, the other person said he loved the look, but had no need for the arrow keys, so, i pointed him to the closest keyboard to that which had what he wanted: a quality keyboard with one of the best switches ever designed, and almost similar design - sans arrow keys. the kishsaver is as close as it gets. the designer of this keyboard might have used the pcjr, but the designers of the pcjr used the kishsaver almost certainly. pointing out pcjr, as an alternative, to the person who had no need for the arrow keys would be retarded, wouldn't you think so?

i don't have any beef with kf, i'm just pointing out that he took 1 sentence out of the whole conversation and started making it the main issue. also, i didn't call him retarded, i said, hypothetically, if you were looking for a product without feature-X, wouldn't it be stupid if someone kept mentioning products with feature-X.

anyway, lets keep things on topic -- this GB. i can't wait to get my hands on this beauty.
