[IC] LZ-GH Keyboard
« on: Tue, 15 January 2013, 09:32:38 »
Who want's a LZ(LifeZone) keyboard?

After some talks with LZ and the other members over at KBD, looks like GH will have a LZ-GH.

'Fill out my form, it's all there'  (oh yeah:  keyboard!)
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dEY2VGVUdFVkT0dRWE9tbTh0QWxLeGc6MQ

I know this is lacking information, but this is just a IC to see what keyboard layout the GH members what. Will keep the IC open for a few weeks and update this thread when I get new information form LZ or RedLine Members.

Some things that might be of interest to everyone might be: quantity available and price estimate. I know these are usually limited batches with high price tags.

Don't get me wrong I am totally stoked, but I don't want to get my hopes up too high only to find out they are $600 and there is only 20 available

I think I'd be willing to pay around the $400 range. The only problem will be if there's a CC-esque amount available. I missed out on the most recent Clack sale because of the drawing system they did, despite that I camped out every night for like a week just refreshing the page so I wouldn't miss it. I really don't want the same sort of deal to happen with the LZ-GH.

It's difficult to meet the demand if there's a limited supply, I don't think there are many ways around it. The lotto for CC's was so that people that are at a disadvantage (e.g. people with high latency so they can't camp sites efficiently etc.) will have an equal chance compare to everyone else. But at the end of the day, these decisions are made by the seller regardless of how fair the buyers deem these methods.

I don't see why this wouldn't be like any other keyboard group buy. Buyers place their orders, pay the invoice, then wait for the products to be produced and shipped.

Unless LZ doesn't operate that way.

Oh, the sale was by all means fair to everyone, and probably the best method to evenly distribute the CC's. It just sucked spending all that time for no reason.

Oh yes, I realize this is just the IC. Buy if one final design is chosen from the most popular selections, I would think it would proceed as a normal group buy. Not being limited to a certain number of total orders, I mean. But again, I'm not familiar with how LZ runs his buys.

half plate is preferred to be used with tactile switches while a full plate is for linear switches, that's not to say you can't use whatever switch with either plate

And the difference in the plate itself is that half plate has no plate surrounding the alpha-numeric switches.
